In just less than 24 hours, the first season of the Call of Duty League will begin. With fans around the world ready and raring to watch their favorite teams and players, here are a few things you need to know before the tournament starts streaming live from Minneapolis.
There are twelve teams in the COD League and they aren’t all from the United States. They are the Atlanta Faze, Chicago Huntsmen, Dallas Empire, Florida Mutineers, London Royal Ravens, Los Angeles Guerillas, Minnesota Rokkr, New York Subliners, Optic Gaming Los Angeles, Paris Legion, Seattle Surge, and finally, the Toronto Ultra.

Out of the teams, there are a few favorites already, with the Atlanta Faze, Chicago Huntsmen, and the Dallas Empire polling high amongst analysts and esports critics. Friday will issue in the first three matches of the series, games between the Chicago Huntsmen and Dallas Empire, Seattle Surge and the Florida Mutineers, and last but certainly far from least, the Los Angeles Guerillas taking on the Minnesota Rokkr.
Players for tomorrow have already begun tweeting (in heavy excess) about the league, though one official video showcasing the Call of Duty professionals was just posted only a few minutes ago. In it, we see various teams describing what exactly “anchoring” is.
