Modern Warfare 3: The Best MCW Loadout

The best MCW Loadout will set you apart from the mediocre players in the online lobbies of MW3

Modern Warfare 3 enthusiasts can't miss out on the MCW – one of the newly released assault rifles in the game. The MCW rifle is quite similar to the ACR from the original MW3, and as a result, the gaming community has started referring to it as such. Its versatility and all-round performance make it a highly sought-after weapon.

Whether you're a beginner or a pro, an MCW loadout is an excellent option for you. In this article, we'll not only guide you on how to unlock the MCW in Modern Warfare 3 but also provide tips on how to create the best loadout possible. You'll learn about the best attachments, perks, gear, equipment, and more. Keep reading to upgrade your gameplay with the MCW.

MCW Loadout: How to Unlock the Gun

As you progress through Multiplayer matches, you'll be able to unlock the MCW once you hit player level 44. To earn XP and level up, you'll need to complete various actions during the matches, such as getting kills and completing objectives. Once you've accumulated enough XP and reached player level 44, you can equip the MCW to any of your load-outs. From there, you can customize and level up the MCW to suit your preferences.

If you are looking to utilize the MCW (Multi-Role Combat Weapon) earlier in the game, you have the option to select the ‘Counter-Invasion' loadout preset during matches. While this option doesn't allow for customization of the weapon or class, it does provide a beneficial head start for leveling the gun.

It's important to note that unlocking compatible attachments for the MCW can be achieved by leveling up other weapons as well. Therefore, it may be worthwhile to explore other weapons or review what actions are required to unlock the recommended attachments and work towards achieving them.

The Best MCW Loadout and Attachments

If you're using the MCW, it's vital to select attachments that work well with its inherent strengths. This will help to improve your combat effectiveness by increasing your range and providing clear sights for targeting and attacking your enemies.

To obtain information on the required levels and unlock criteria for each attachment, simply navigate to the gunsmith screen for the weapon, then select the relevant attachment slot to access the complete list of available attachments, along with their unlock requirements.

These five attachments listed below will give you ample advantage against your foes with MCW.

  • MK.23 Reflector Optics
  • RB Talon-X3 Grip
  • Muzzle: L4R Flash Hider
  • Ammunition: 5.56 Nato High Grain
  • 16.5″ MCW Cyclone Long Barrel

When it comes to selecting an optic attachment in MW3, the MK.23 Reflector Optic is a popular and practical choice, and it has proven to be helpful during beta testing, making it a great option in the whole game. This attachment offers a clear view that enhances accuracy when aiming down sight (ADS), which is vital in any combat situation.

To further enhance the weapon's power, we recommend the 16.5″ MCW Cyclone Long Barrel as the second attachment. This attachment provides the most potent bonuses compared to all the other attachments available. The MCW Cyclone Long Barrel significantly increases bullet velocity and range, aiming idle sway and firing aim stability. These buffs make the weapon more potent and effective at longer ranges, allowing its rounds to hit targets at a faster pace.

However, like most attachments, there are some downsides. The MCW Cyclone Long Barrel increases the Tac Stance and hip fire spread while reducing aim walking speed. For those new to MW3, Tac Stance is a new aiming mode between hip fire and ADS, offering greater mobility than ADS while providing accuracy that's between hip fire and ADS. Fortunately, these cons are not likely to affect medium-range combat encounters, which is what the MCW Cyclone Long Barrel is designed for.

The third attachment is almost as valuable as the barrel, but it has a minor downside. The L4R Flash Hider Muzzle attachment not only conceals the MCW's muzzle flash but also improves the gun's vertical and horizontal recoil and provides greater control when firing.

The last two attachments are the RB Talon-X3 Rear Grip and the 5.56 Nato High Grain Ammunition. The RB Talon-X3 Rear Grip further enhances the MCW's medium sightlines by improving firing aim stability, gun kick control, and recoil control. However, it does affect the gun's aiming idle sway, which is offset by our barrel selection.

The 5.56 Nato High Grain Ammunition reduces recoil control but increases bullet velocity and damage range, making the gun even more effective in medium-range combat. All of the attachments combined provide significant enhancements for ADS gunfights.

MCW Best Class Build and Equipment

In Modern Warfare 3, players can customize their loadouts with a greater level of flexibility than before. In addition to the weapon's attachment setup, players can also choose their build and equipment to suit their playstyle.

The ‘Vest' option is a new addition to loadouts that offers a more defined playstyle and is an excellent way to ensure that the loadout provides the desired benefits. This feature allows players to create a loadout that is tailored to their unique needs and preferences, making for a more personalized and engaging gameplay experience.

Consider having these components in your class-build to have the ultimate edge while going against formidable foes in the rigorous online lobbies.

  • Gunner Vest
  • Perk 1 – Commando Gloves
  • Perk 2 – Mission Control Comlink
  • Lethal: Frag Grenade
  • Tactical: Flash Grenade
  • Field Upgrade: Munitions Box
  • Secondary Weapon: Lockwood 680

Starting with the Gunner Vest, it provides essential abilities for longer durations in combat, such as improved ammo and reload speed. Additionally, equipping this vest allows the player to carry a second primary weapon in the Secondary slot. For this loadout, the Lockwood 680 Shotgun is recommended as it serves as an excellent backup for close-quarters battles.

Regarding the Gear slots, also known as Perks, the focus is on selecting abilities that complement the playstyle of the class. Although the Gunner Vest narrows the options down to two perks, it is worth considering its multitude of functions. For the Gloves slot, Commando Gloves are suggested as they enable reloading while sprinting, which is further enhanced by the improved reload speed from the Gunner Vest.

For the Gear Perk slot, Mission Control Comlink (previously known as Hardline) is recommended as it shortens the kill streak requirement by one kill (or 125 less score if you choose to earn streaks that way). As for the Field Upgrade, it is left to personal preference, but the Munitions Box is a reliable choice for a quick ammo and equipment refill.

The Tactical and Lethal options for this loadout consist of the Flash and Frag Grenades, but players are encouraged to experiment and choose the ones that work best for them. Particularly with Vests, which are a good starting point to determine the loadout's playstyle, players may consider the Infantry Vest. This vest enables a more mobile approach with increased Tac Sprint duration and a reduced cooldown, along with a more traditional 3-perk selection.
