Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play to Arrive in 2023

Ranked Play is coming in 2023 following Treyarch’s announcement.

Modern Warfare 2 is officially the biggest Call of Duty launch ever, bringing in over $800 million in the first three days. However, fans are already looking toward the future, and Call of Duty has answered by giving us a release date for the Ranked mode that many players adore. Fans may have expected Ranked to come alongside the start of the Call of Duty League season on December 2nd, however, it has been revealed that it will come in 2023.

When is Ranked coming to Modern Warfare 2

Headed by arguably the most loved Call of Duty developer, Treyarch, Ranked Play will arrive in 2023. Season 1 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 begins on November 16th but Ranked will not be ready that quickly.

While the official date has not been announced, we should expect it to be in early 2023, as fans consistently ask for a Ranked play mode, and this would go hand in hand with the start of stage 2 of the 2023 Call of Duty League season. However, while Ranked Play will not arrive so soon, we have Warzone 2 and everything else that comes with season 1 of Modern Warfare 2 to enjoy on November 16th.

Treyarch revealed that Ranked Play would feature Competitive Modes, Skill Divisions, visible skill rankings, a top 250 leaderboard and competitive rewards, similar to both Cold War and Vanguard’s Ranked Play modes.

This gives us high hopes for Modern Warfare 2’s ranked play, as many players stuck with Vanguard due to the success of Ranked Play. Treyarch also revealed that a CDL Moshpit mode would arrive with season one of Modern Warfare 2 on November 16th. This will likely feature 4v4 gameplay with the Call of Duty League maps, modes, and restrictions.
