• Flex Picks: Partial payouts available if one or more legs miss, depending on how many selections you made.

My first impressions of the app were that it had a nice, smooth user experience and interface. If you’re familiar with other pick’em-style apps like PrizePicks (see our PrizePicks review), the app won’t take much getting used to.

Betr Picks Contest Types: Perfect Picks, Flex Picks, and Arcade

Most standard DFS platforms offer plenty of contest types, but Betr offers a pick’em platform. This is a simplified version that anyone can figure out by trying it. 

Whether this simplicity is their goal or not, it does make the app very easy to use, but at the cost of game variety. There are only pick’em-style games, plus an arcade.

In Betr DFS, the pick’em contest type comes in two varieties: Perfect or Flex. Perfect Picks are like parlays on a sportsbook in that if any selection isn’t correct, the whole entry loses. 

Flex Picks give you more leeway. If just one selection isn’t correct, you can still win some money. 

You can make between 2 and 8 selections for either Pick type. You choose more or less, pick it, and add it to your entry. The potential payout will be listed alongside your entry. 

At Betr Picks, there are no pushes, meaning every selection must either be correct or incorrect. Here’s the potential payout structure with its max payout (Perfect Pick) per number of picks: 

The maximum payout per Pick is 100x the stake without a multiplier. Boosted Picks allow you to multiply your odds. However, they’re much harder to hit, as you may have guessed. 

After you’ve built your entry and are ready to set the amount you want to wager, the maximum stake will be displayed. You can click that or one of the preset amounts, such as $20. 

Betr Arcade: Peer-to-Peer Games for Real Money

Betr also includes a peer-to-peer arcade, meaning you play against other players for real money instead of the platform. If you win, the money comes from a real player. 

You can play games for $1.25 and up. Arcade games include card, puzzle, and other head-to-head games with simple mechanics and rules. 

Games include 21, Crossout 21, Flappy Duck, Fruit Match, 5 Across, and more. The arcade is an interesting addition to the platform that you won’t find at many other DFS or pick’em apps.

For each sport, you can view either Projections or Players. There are also buttons you can use for various categories, such as assists, blocks, Pts+Ast, and more. These buttons vary by sport, and for some sports, the categories aren’t as abundant. 

For example, in MLS, the categories are just Goals, Assists, and Goals + Assists. But in CBB (NCAAM), there are 11 categories to choose from. 

Basketball is one of the platform’s main focuses. You can combine selections from any sport to build your entry. When a sport is out of season, it’ll still show up in the list of sports but you won’t be able to select anything from it.

Betr Picks only comes as an app. You can sign up on the main website, but you can’t actually use the platform there. 

The app is available for iOS and Android. It’s a simple app that includes everything in one place: the sportsbook, picks, and arcade. 

In states where sports betting isn’t permitted, the app only shows you the picks and arcade. This is determined when you select your state during the app’s first launch.

While writing our Betr fantasy review, we thoroughly tested the app. One thing that’s great is the app doesn’t overwhelm you with settings and options. The interface is straightforward, showing only the essentials. To find a setting, just tap the account icon. 

The search bar works great, letting you find what you need in seconds. Since Betr Picks is a basic platform, the app is equally basic and easy for anyone to pick up for the first time. 

After you make a selection, your entry will appear at the bottom of the screen in what resembles a bet slip, including the potential payout for a default bet of $20. 

There’s also a live score tracker that lets you follow scores in real time. It even shows the game clock on your phone’s lock screen when the app is running.

The app’s overall speed and stability are quite good. After all, it’s a pared-down platform, so the performance ought to be solid.

If you want more variety, choose PrizePicks. And if you plan to focus on one of the main sports, such as football, Underdog Fantasy is a great choice, since it offers lots of contests and game types for the few sports it covers. 

However, Betr Picks doesn’t offer traditional DFS contests like DraftKings, FanDuel, or Yahoo Fantasy. You will not find GPP tournaments, 50/50 contests, bankroll management, or a prize pool structure like you would on those sites. 

The player projections are done in an over/under format, which is a much simpler DFS strategy. 

Betr Picks vs PrizePicks DFS: Sport and League Comparison

Compared to PrizePicks, the coverage is similar. PrizePicks offers some e-sports options that Betr Picks doesn’t, such as Call of Duty (COD), Rocket League, DOTA 2, and Valorant (VAL).

The two platforms include the same soccer leagues, except PrizePicks offers a couple more categories, such as Saves and Goals Allowed. Likewise, you’ll find the same two categories added for NHL – Saves and Goals Allowed. 

Overall, PrizePicks has the edge in terms of coverage, but only by a narrow margin.
