How to Use the Locked Diary in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

The Locked Diary has been an enigma to many Modern Warfare 3 Zombies players, so we have detailed its use in this write-up 

Many Modern Warfare 3 Zombies players have struggled to figure out what to do with the Locked Diary item. The most recent update has introduced numerous additions to MW3 Zombies, including a unique POI called Dark Aether Rifts. You will find the Locked Diary after getting the better of the giant Gorm'gant boss there, which is not a simple challenge by any means. What should you do once you get hold of the diary? Here is everything you need to know about the item and its use. 

How to Get The Locked Diary in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies? 

We have already told you that you must defeat Gorm'gant to acquire the Locked Diary. Now, let us tell you how to set up that encounter. The first thing you need to do is to activate Bad Signal, the newly introduced Act 4 story mission. Before you do so, however, we recommend gearing up with heavy armament. An assault rifle or LMG that can inflict some serious damage is a must. Also, make sure to stock up enough ammo. 

Since the boss fight in this mode is going to be incredibly more difficult than anything you encountered in Act 3, we would also recommend loading up on grenades and Perk-A-Colas. Moreover, make sure to approach this mission with a group of three. Upon entering the match, upgrade your weapon to level 3 using Pack-a-Punch and follow the Tac Map to reach the mission's location.

Once you get there, a Dark Aether Rift will pop up and transport you to the Dark Aether. Your goal here is to find four seals using the Tac Map and destroy them. You will also have to go through the nearby zombies to unlock the boss battle. After breaking all the seals, proceed toward the beach, where Gorm'gant will spawn. Target the worm's vulnerable areas while evading its attacks simultaneously. Upon defeating Gorm’gant, a reward rift will appear and give you the diary. 

How to Use the Locked Diary in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies 

Unfortunately, the Locked Diary is only one piece of the puzzle. You must recover three other items to unlock the applicability of this unique gold rarity item. The three other items you are looking for are:

• A Dog Collar 
• A Surveillance Camera
• A Pill Bottle

How to Find the Dog Collar in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies 

Put a piece of meat in a Doghouse with a Molotov, and you will see a Hellhound appear. Kill it, and you will get an epic rarity Dog Collar. What you are looking for, however, is the gold rarity Dog Collar. You must keep the newfound item in your inventory, though, as it will lead you to the location of the gold rarity Dog Collar.  

Carry it with you through an Aether Tear teleport, skydive directly to the red light marker, and complete the tier three high-value target contract that pops up. After all that, you will get the gold rarity Dog Collar you have been looking for. 

How to Find the Surveillance Camera in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

First, you need to eliminate a Harvester Orb using a Dead Wire Ammo Mod weapon. After doing that, you will get an epic rarity Surveillance Camera. The rest of the process might sound familiar: keep the epic rarity item with you and go through an Aether teleport. This time, you need to glide toward the yellow light marker and complete the tier two contract that arrives once you get there. You will get the gold rarity Surveillance Camera afterward. 

How to Find the Pill Bottle in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

Load up a weapon with a Brain Rot Ammo Mod and fire a few rounds at the yellow cyst in an Aether Nest. Interact with the cyst once it turns green and open it. You will find the epic rarity Pill Bottle there. Teleport through the Aether afterward and glide toward the green light. Complete the tier one contract and retrieve the gold rarity Pill Bottle.  

What to Do After Collecting All Four Items 

After securing the quartet, you will have to set sail for an island in the southern region of the high-risk zone. Once you get there, you will see four pedestals, each of them bearing individual symbols. You need to put the items on their dedicated pedestals. Here’s how you need to assign them:

As soon as you do this, a portal will open to throw a Megabomb and a group of tier-three zombies at you. After surviving them, you will receive a Dark Aether Sigil. Use this to transform the portal into a Dark Aether Rift. You will find three contracts inside that offer you permanent access to Dark Aether Rifts. There is a catch, however, as you will have to use a Dark Aether Sigil every time you access a Dark Aether rift. One method to obtain Dark Aether Sigils is by completing tier-three contracts. Additionally, they can be found scattered across the Dark Aether maps while performing specific tasks.
