How to Access Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Early: Pre-load date and rewards

Players can access Modern Warfare 2’s Campaign a week early.

Modern Warfare 2 has the Call of Duty community more hyped than ever. Following a successful beta, fans are excited to get straight into the action on October 28th, MW2’s official release date. However, players can get a taste of the action early, with the entire campaign releasing a week before Thursday, October 20th.

While Activision may have made this decision just to continue the hype for the new release, it may also be down to many players completely skipping the Campaign and heading straight into multiplayer. This week of early access ensures that players remember to give the Campaign a go, and if it is anywhere near as good as Modern Warfare 2019’s, then fans are in for a great experience.

How to Play MW2 Campaign Early

Players can gain access to the Campaign by simply pre-ordering the game. It isn't clear if physical pre-orders will be sent out to accommodate this, but digital pre-orders will all have access to the Campaign starting at 10 am PT on October 20th. However, players can pre-load the game right now, so they're ready to jump in as soon as it is released.

Getting to play through the Campaign isn't the only reason to hop in early. Players who complete their story will also receive multiple rewards, including everything from calling cards, to double XP tokens and even brand-new operators.
