Zombies will be Free to Play for the first time ever this weekend, here’s everything you need to know.

This week from January 14 to January 21, Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode will be free to play for all platforms. This is the first time that the legendary Treyarch mode will be free to play, allowing all members of the community to join in. Across the week, the following modes will be available:

  • Die Maschine
  • Cranked
  • Onslaught (Playstation Exclusive)

Die Maschine is the base Zombies mode for Black Ops Cold War. This is the standard map and features the Zombies gameplay that we all know and love. Cranked however puts a new spin on Zombies. Known more as a Multiplayer mode, Cranked gives players a timer, requiring them to kill a zombie before the timer runs out. This timer gets shorter and shorter as the rounds go on.

Finally, Onslaught is a new mode exclusively for Playstation players. In this mode, you’ll be bound to a certain part of the map until you can kill enough Zombies.

The Free Access Trial for Black Ops Cold War Zombies should be available to download now. Free players will be able to party up with Paid players, so you can get some experienced friends to help if needed.
