The well-known Famas Assault Rifle returns, and this year it packs a punch.
Veterans of the Call of Duty franchise will be extremely familiar with the Famas Assault Rifle. This year it returns once more in the form of the FFAR 1. Unlocked at level 40, it is a weapon that you’ll need to rank up before you can use, but it is definitely worth the wait. Many professional Call of Duty League players have selected the FFAR 1 as their weapon of choice for their day one wagers, so let's take a look at our favorite all-around class, along with a faster more SMG like variant.
ESTNN’s Class Setup
We like to run an all-around version of the FFAR 1. This combination of attachments makes the Assault Rifle good at all ranges, and even compete up close against some SMG’s such as the MP5. Some attachments can be swapped out for your liking such as the Optic, but attachments such as the 34 Round Magazine are essential to this class. For an all-around class, you’ll need to use these attachments:
- Quickdot LED (Optic)
- Muzzle Brake 5.56 (Muzzle)
- 20.3” Takedown (Barrel)
- Steady Aim Laser (Body)
- Foregrip (Underbarrel)
- 34 RND (Magazine)
- SASR Jungle Grip (Handle)
- SAS Combat Stock (Stock)
Using these attachments turns the FFAR 1 into one of the best guns in the game, and excellent at all ranges. The magazine is crucial to increase that extremely small 25 round default mag, while the grip and stock help to increase aim walking movement speed. This class will also require the Gunfighter Wildcard.
Speed Class Setup
For a faster, more SMG like class. You’ll want to use the following attachments:
- 17.9” Ultralight (Barrel)
- Infiltrator Grip (Underbarrel)
- 34 RND (Magazine)
- Serpent Wrap (Handle)
- Raider Stock (Stock)
This class setup greatly increases both the sprint to fire time and the aim walking movement speed, making the FFAR 1 much more viable in close-quarters engagements. The increase in sprint to fire rate means that you can rush into objectives and play at the same pace as an SMG player while also being able to engage in gunfights as quickly as them. While this class does not require the Gunfighter Wildcard, if you wish to add an Optic then it will be required.
