OpTic Texas 3-1 Florida Mutineers
OpTic Texas had the crowd hyped before the first match of the day, and with Scump bringing out the team, they came out fighting. OpTic Texas started the series hot with 250-204 Hydro Hardpoint victory where the SMG players of Shotzzy and Huke dominated. Shotzzy topped the leaderboard with 29 kills and a 1.71 K/D, while Huke was only one behind with 28 himself. OpTic looked great and the crowd was hyped, a strong combination for their home Major, but a dangerous one for the Florida Mutineers.
OpTic Texas extended their lead to 2-0 in this series with a 6-3 Hotel Search and Destroy victory in map two. This was a great complete performance from OpTic Texas as they played great together and used their teamwork to take the map and put themselves on series point. The Florida Mutineers managed to claw a map back in this series with a reverse sweep in the map three Hotel Control. However, this was all they managed in the series, as OpTic were back to their best on Mercado Hardpoint for map four. A 250-117 victory saw Huke dominate, putting up 26 kills and a 1.53 K/D as OpTic Texas advanced in their home Major, and the Mutineers walked the plank.
Atlanta FaZe 3-2 Seattle Surge
Atlanta FaZe came into this match facing a rejuvenated Seattle Surge who seem to be slowly getting back to their best. However, Atlanta FaZe were able to stop them from taking momentum as they came out with a 250-185 Embassy Hardpoint win in map one. Cellium was incredible as usual, putting up 30 kills and a 2.14 K/D as he topped the leaderboard and set FaZe up with a 1-0 lead in the series. Atlanta FaZe were on a 13 map Search and Destroy win streak heading into this map, and they extended their streak to 14 with a 6-3 victory on Hotel. While Seattle Surge were competitive in this map, Atlanta FaZe just look too good at the moment, and this series could be over.
Seattle Surge weren’t going out this easy however, as they regained in the map three Hotel Control to take a 3-2 victory. Atlanta FaZe started to get back into this map, but Pred was dominating with a massive 40 kills in this map three Control, putting up a 1.67 K/D as Surge closed out the Control and got a map on the board. Seattle Surge took some unbelievable momentum from the third map of the series and brought it into map four Fortress Hardpoint. A 250-220 victory came in a great map which saw Seattle Surge gain a big early lead, and the duo of Pred and Sib worked together to close out the map and take us to a game five.
This series went as far as possible, with Atlanta FaZe and Seattle Surge giving us an excellent match as always. However, it was Atlanta FaZe who came out with the game five round 11 victory on Embassy Search and Destroy. Seattle Surge will be disappointed to have not pulled off the reverse sweep here, however Pred will be even more disappointed as he put up a massive 16 kills in this final Search and Destroy.
Toronto Ultra 3-2 Boston Breach
Toronto Ultra came out hot in this series with CleanX absolutely running the show in map one putting up 39 kills on Fortress Hardpoint. However, it was Boston Breach who came out on top with a 250-213 victory, seeing Nero equally fry with 33 kills himself. Boston Breach took a 1-0 lead in the series, and looked towards the Search and Destroy. The 5-3 curse struck again in map two of this series as Toronto Ultra came back to take the Fortress Search and Destroy 6-5. Insight dominated in this map putting up 14 kills as they tied the series 1-1 heading into Control.
Insight continued to perform in the El Asilo Control as Toronto Ultra took a dominant 3-0 victory. Here, Insight dropped a massive 24 kills and a 3.00 K/D as the whole team went positive and took a 2-1 lead in this series. Boston Breach brought us to a game five in an extremely close 250-243 Hotel Hardpoint map four. Vivid put up a massive 30 kills while he still went negative, however it was this constant pressure from Boston Breach that allowed them to consistently break hills and get vital points to take the map. Toronto Ultra closed out the series with a 6-2 Hotel Search and Destroy victory to advance at Major 3. This was a well played map from the entire team, and sees Toronto Ultra back where they should be competing at the top of Major’s.
OpTic Texas 3-1 Seattle Surge
OpTic Texas have the home crowd advantage, and this could give them a great advantage in this losers bracket run. In map one of this series, it might have done just that as they took a 250-209 victory on Hydro Hardpoint. Huke led the line in this map, dropping 29 kills and a 1.53 K/D in this map one win as OpTic Texas took a 1-0 lead in this elimination series. OpTic Texas extended their lead in the series to 2-0 with a 6-1 Hotel Search and Destroy victory. This was a clinical performance from OpTic Texas as the crowd got behind them and they dominated, with Dashy topping the kills and K/D leaderboard with 8 kills and a 8.00 K/D.
Seattle Surge got a map on the board with a 3-1 victory on Hotel Control. Pred dominated the map with 30 kills as Seattle Surge looked to get back into this series and remain in Major 3. However, OpTic Texas closed out the fourth map of this series with a 250-120 Fortress Hardpoint victory. Dashy dominated here, putting up 21 kills and a massive 2.10 K/D as they locked down spawns and held hills perfectly to win the map and the series.
Boston Breach 3-0 Las Vegas Legion
Boston Breach took map one in this series with a 250-200 Hotel Hardpoint win. However the map was not as close as this scoreline seems. Boston Breach had a lead over 120 points early on in this map, and Las Vegas Legion attempted a comeback similar to their Hotel Hardpoint win over the LA Thieves yesterday. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough from the Las Vegas Legion this time, and Boston Breach took a 1-0 lead in the series.
Boston Breach extended their lead to 2-0 in this series with a 6-2 Fortress Search and Destroy victory, handing Las Vegas Legion their first Fortress Search and Destroy loss of the season. Nero continued to look great in Search and Destroy as he dropped 10 kills here to top the leaderboard as we moved into a Fortress Control. Boston Breach closed out the series with a 3-1 Fortress Control victory to take the series in a quick 3-0 sweep. Vivid and Beans topped the leaderboard in this map, and the Boston Breach look great heading into championship Sunday.
