CDL Major 2 Qualifiers – Week 3; Day 2 Recap

Here’s everything that went down on the second day of the final Major 2 Qualifiers

The final week of qualifiers for Major 2 continued with day two last night. With some incredible matches, here’s a recap of every map from last night's qualifying matches.

Seattle Surge 3-1 LA Thieves

The LA Thieves took a 1-0 lead in the series through a 250-218 Hardpoint win on Tuscan. This map saw Envoy dominate for the Thieves, putting up 39 kills with a 1.34 K/D to give his roster the lead. However, Seattle Surge came back strong, winning map two extremely easily with a 6-2 victory on Tuscan Search and Destroy, with Accuracy dropping a 2.25 K/D to top the leaderboard.

In the Control, Seattle came out strong again, sweeping the Thieves with a 3-0 win. Seattle outslayed the Thieves by 22 kills, with Kenny only managing to pick up 7 across all three rounds. To finish the series, Seattle Surge took a 250-152 victory on Berlin Hardpoint, winning the series 3-1 and surely leading to a roster change within the LA Thieves.

Boston Breach 3-0 Florida Mutineers

The Boston Breach has been a dominant force throughout the 2022 Call of Duty League season, and more specifically in Stage 2. This was very clear in this series, as the breach took map one with a 250-124 Hardpoint win on Gavutu. Capsidal and Methodz were the top fraggers here, putting up 1.53 and 1.57 K/D’s respectively. Map two went the distance and saw the Mutineers force a round 11. However, Methodz continued his excellent performance from map one and finished this Search and Destroy with a 2.20 K/D, dropping 11 kills.

Finally, Boston Breach closed out the series in a 3-0 sweep following a 3-2 Gavutu Control win. Methodz rose to the top yet again, with 31 kills and a 1.72 K/D, seeing him finish the series with a 1.73 K/D overall.

OpTic Texas 3-0 Los Angeles Guerrillas

OpTic Texas has been the best team in the Call of Duty League following their Major 1 victory. They continued this dominance throughout the Major 2 qualifiers and took a 3-0 sweep in this series once again. To begin the series, Scump dropped a massive 1.47 K/D in their 250-210 Hardpoint win on Gavutu.

Shotzzy went on to perform even better in the Search and Destroy, putting up 13 kills and a monstrous 4.33 K/D on Desert Siege, putting OpTic Texas on Match Point. To finish the series and complete the sweep, OpTic took a 3-2 win on Gavutu Control, seeing themselves on an 11 match win streak.

New York Subliners 3-1 Minnesota ROKKR

The New York Subliners have struggled throughout the 2022 Call of Duty League season, however, their new pick-up of PaulEhx has thoroughly improved the team. While PaulEhx has looked great, Neptune was the main slayer in this series, starting off with 41 kills and a 1.41 K/D on Bocage Hardpoint, as NYSL took a 199-188 win. Map two saw the Search and Destroy specialist of PaulEhx turn up, dropping 10 kills with a 3.33 K/D to win the map 6-2.

Minnesota ROKKR replied in map three, clutching up in round five and getting themselves back into the series. However, NYSL took yet another Hardpoint win as they took map four 250-195 on Berlin, getting the 3-1 series victory.
