Boston Breach 3-1 Las Vegas Legion
Boston Breach took a 1-0 lead in this series with a 250-218 Embassy Hardpoint win. Owakening dominated with 26 kills and a 1.85 K/D; however it was the poor holds from the Las Vegas Legion that led to this map win for the Breach. Vegas were consistently rotating first to the Hardpoints, however, they just could not hold and four breaks in a row saw Boston Breach regain their lead and eventually close out the map.
Las Vegas Legion tied the series 1-1 with a Mercado Search and Destroy victory led by TJHaly and Prolute. Prolute topped the leaderboard in terms of K/D, putting up a 2.33 K/D on this map as Vegas completely dominated and took a 6-1 victory to level the series. Boston Breach regained the lead in the series following a 3-1 El Asilo Control victory. While Boston took an attacking round here, it was their defensive rounds that were exceptional, as they denied Vegas from getting any ticks and completely dominated to take a 2-1 series lead.
Boston Breach closed out the series with a 250-232 Hydro Hardpoint, which was closer than expected, and shows that the Las Vegas Legion could be a dark horse for Major 2. Nero went on a 10 kill streak to close out the map as Boston Breach chained together crucial Hardpoints to close out the map and, therefore the series.
LA Thieves 3-0 London Royal Ravens
The LA Thieves are still playing with Capsidal as a sub for Kenny due to his illness; however, they got their first win with Cap in this series. LA Thieves pulled off an excellent comeback in this map one Fortress Hardpoint to win 250-242, with Envoy having an excellent map as the LA Thieves took a 1-0 lead in the series. LA Thieves took a 2-0 lead in this series following a 6-2 Hotel Search and Destroy win. Capsidal showed his Search and Destroy ability that he showed in the Vanguard season here as he dominated with 10 kills to put his LA Thieves team on a series point.
The LA Thieves closed out this series in a quick 3-0 with a 3-1 Hotel Control victory. This was a great performance from the entire team that could’ve been a 3-0 victory. However, it was a 1v1 win from Skrapz that saw London achieve their only round win in this series, but unfortunately, saw them lose the series in a 3-0.
OpTic Texas 3-1 Toronto Ultra
OpTic Texas took a 3-2 victory over Seattle Surge in their match yesterday. However, their Hardpoint didn't look as good as it could have been. In the first map of this series however, OpTic Texas took a 250-214 Hotel Hardpoint victory with a big 27 kills from Shotzzy. OpTic won this map through their early rotations, and with their SnD looking good yesterday, they could be on for a victory in this series.
OpTic Texas went up 2-0 in their series through a 6-4 Embassy Search and Destroy map two. OpTic Texas’ Search and Destroy continues to look great, mainly due to iLLeY’s great sniper gameplay that allowed them to get kills following their initial picks to go up to a 4v2 in the round which they consistently closed out. Toronto Ultra got back in this series with a 3-1 Fortress Control victory. Scrappy and CleanX dominated, both putting up 21 kills and 1.50 K/D’s in this map as they stopped the 3-0 and got back into this series.
OpTic Texas took their second series win as a new roster with a 250-191 Embassy Hardpoint with an exceptional performance from iLLeY which saw him put up a massive 1.48 kills resulting in an X K/D. This saw OpTic go 2-0 with their new roster, and they look in a great position heading into Major 2.
Minnesota ROKKR 3-0 Atlanta FaZe
Abezy had an incredible map on the side of Atlanta FaZe, putting up a massive 28 kills. However, it was the Minnesota ROKKR who took a 1-0 lead in this series with a 250-246 Embassy Hardpoint win with a 35 kill performance from Bance in an insanely close map. ROKKR had to clutch up in the end with an early rotation, but it was incredibly close throughout the entire map and this could be the best series of the night.
We moved to Hotel for the map two, Search and Destroy, with Minnesota ROKKR coming out on top with a 6-3 victory. The whole team performed well; however it was the SMGs of Afro and Bance who dominated, both dropping 9 kills in this map. To complete the series, Minnesota ROKKR took a 3-2 Fortress Control victory that featured an extremely dominant showing from Afro as he put up 31 kills with a 1.63 K/D as ROKKR tore through Atlanta FaZe and took the series 3-0.
