Call of Duty Vanguard To Use Modern Warfare & Warzone Engine

Vanguard is confirmed to run on the Warzone and Modern Warfare engine.

Call of Duty: Vanguard was finally, officially announced today. With its announcement came lots of new info around the 2021 COD installment. One major piece of information was the announcement that Call of Duty: Vanguard will run on Modern Warfare and Warzone’s engine. This will make the integration between the two “seamless”.

While Infinity Ward created the base of the engine, Sledgehammer has been hard at work to perfect it, and add more features for Vanguard. A new damage layer system sees surfaces accumulate damage and persist over the course of a match. Meanwhile, the new destructible environment allows players to destroy objects, creating new lines of sight mid-game.

Many fans will be excited to see a return to the Modern Warfare engine. It was not only preferred by the community over Cold War’s but also allows for seamless integration with Warzone.
