Call of Duty Prepares For Brand New Season 4 Material

After this week, Infinity Ward moved forward with its expansion of Season 4 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare in a big way.

Warzone, now already a staple amongst COD fans, has new content as well. Iconic Call of Duty character Captain Price joined the Operator ranks, Modern Warfare received three new multiplayer maps, and Warzone welcomed new in-match events.

Breaking It Down

Iconic Call of Duty character Captain Price joined the Operator ranks, Modern Warfare received three new multiplayer maps, and Warzone welcomed new in-match events.

Apart from that, season four also brought a brand new battle pass with lots of new items to earn and equip. Now, more content is headed to Modern Warfare and its battle royale mode. Activision’s weekly blog gives us a general idea about what’s coming to the Call of Duty games this week.

Brand New Game Mode

For starters, One in the Chamber, described as a “fun party mode”, will make its debut in the Modern Warfare playlist. It is a Free-For-All mode where every player starts the match with only a single bullet in a random weapon. Getting a kill earns them another bullet, and all the guns can kill enemies with one shot.

Players will only have three lives each in this mode, and the highest score wins the match. For each bullet fired, the aim has to be extremely precise, and careful consideration for each engagement is necessary. On the other hand, Warzone has no new game modes for this week. The limited-time mode introduced with Season 4 update, Warzone Rumble, remains. It is a 50v50 team deathmatch mode where players can experience large scale gun battles across Verdansk. Apart from that, BR Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads are staying too.

In-game Store

Meanwhile, the brand new bundles are going to be introduced by way of in-game only store purchases. The “Wendigo” Operator bundle is essentially the new “Taiga” skin for Krueger and trio of new Legendary weapon “blueprints.” What these blueprints are exactly are a “Psychosis” for using assault rifles, the quote-unquote “Evil Manifest” for submachine guns, and the “Crevasse” for the user that new ice-pick melee weapon.

It’s interesting to see Activision/Blizzard take a dark tongue and cheek approach to naming their weapons this time around. When it comes to the other bundle, the names are more standard, and to a degree, a bit more cartoonish. The other new bundle headed to the store is the “Notice Me III” bundle. This other new bundle features a shiny blue “Dream Dasher” submachine gun blueprint, an Epic “Chibi Trooper” weapon charm, and a “Cute Cadet” sticker.
