The league shakes it up for the 2022 season, here’s all the changes.
Heading into the 2022 Call of Duty League season, the schedule's set to see a few changes; a new format being used during the Vanguard era. Plus a mix of online and LAN play, an Am vs Pro event and much more! Here's all the changes for the 2022 season, and the key dates you need to know.
2022 CDL Format
The 2022 CDL Season will see teams compete in an Online and LAN hybrid. This means that teams will play three weeks of online qualifying matches before the top 8 teams head through to a LAN event. There will be four LAN’s throughout the season hosted by OpTic Texas, Minnesota ROKKR, Toronto Ultra and New York Subliners. This results in 16 weeks of regular season action.
Midseason Tournaments
For the first time, the Call of Duty League will introduce a Pro-Am tournament as well as a Call of Duty: Warzone event featuring Call of Duty League pros, streamers, and other influencers. This will see more viewers come to the COD League, and hopefully grow the audience.
Kickoff Classic
The Kickoff Classic returns on January 21 – 23 and will see all 12 CDL teams compete on LAN in Texas. This gives fans a taste of this year's Call of Duty League action ahead of the regular season.
Opening Weekend
Finally, the 2022 Call of Duty League season will officially start on Feb 4 – 6 with these first matches being played online. We can’t wait to see what this third season of the Call of Duty League on Call of Duty: Vanguard has in store for all of us.
