FaZe goes back to back as they win the first LAN Major of the year
Stage 4 of the 2021 Call of Duty League season saw the return to LAN for the first time in over 400 days. However, it was the same dominant force of Atlanta FaZe that took home the Major, winning their third of the year and going back-to-back.
FaZe's Road to Victory
Atlanta FaZe landed in Texas for the first LAN Major of the year and were greeted with a day off before their run at the tournament began. Their 5-0 record from Stage 4 pool play gave them a one-round bye and saw them face off against Minnesota ROKKR to begin their Major run.
FaZe dominated in their first LAN match, with a quick 3-0 win seeing them confirm their place in Winners Finals already. Winners Finals was a tough fight against Toronto Ultra. While the match ended 3-1 in favor of FaZe, this wasn't easy and required a lot of clutches in order to progress to the Grand Final.
Following their 3-1 win over Toronto, FaZe moved onto the Grand Finals. Here, they faced Major 4 hosts, Dallas Empire. This match went the distance, with FaZe losing some of their best maps including Moscow and Garrison, but eventually clutching up in Game Nine to win the series.
The fourth Major of the year was exceptional. While the COD League returns to Online for the next stage of pool play, we’ll see LAN return for Major 5, where FaZe will be looking for a hattrick of Majors.
