Valorant Patch 6.03 Notes: Killjoy and Raze Nerfed, Swiftplay Mode Here To Stay

Valorant Patch 6.03 Notes reveal a series of nerfs for agents Killjoy and Raze along with several gameplay and performance improvements.

After deploying significant nerfs to the game’s French Sentinel, Chamber, Riot’s VALORANT team have decided to decrease the power of another beloved Sentinel, Killjoy. After the decrease in Chamber’s popularity, Killjoy has “sprung up” as the “premier” Sentinel in-game. In order to put the agent back to balanced spot, the dev team have pushed a series of nerfs her Turret while increasing the cost of her Ultimate.

The follow-up update to Patch 6.02 is also heavy on bug and glitch fixes, and allows fans to enjoy Switfplay mode. Riot earlier decided to remove the new gameplay mode, but due to overwhelming feedback from the Valorant community, the mode will remain available for some more time. To further combat in-game toxicity, Real Time Text evaluation will now scan messages in the Agent Select Screen too.

Valorant Patch 6.03 Notes Agent Updates

“When we took on systemic damage and health interactions in Patch 5.12, we decided not to reduce Killjoy’s Turret health given her place in the ecosystem at the time. Given her place today, we are making the changes below.” revealed Riot. “We're happy with Killjoy's Ult being powerful when opponents don't have a plan to push or contest it, but feel the frequency is too high for the reliability it now offers. Reducing the total health of the Turret will allow for opponents to have an easier time destroying it, particularly with weaker weapons.“ read the patch notes post.

  • Turret (E) health decreased from 125 to 100
  • Lockdown (X) point cost increased from 7 to 8.

Raze’s intel-gathering ability receives significant nerfs, as Riot has halved the duration of her hoombot scout to 5 seconds. “We feel the duration of Boom Bot has led to a larger recon footprint than we felt was healthy, in regards to the ability’s secondary output. We are decreasing the amount of space the ability can cover in order to sharpen Boom Bot as a tool Raze and her team can use to follow up around angles.stated Riot.

  • Boom Bot (C) duration decreased from 10 seconds to 5 seconds.

Valorant Patch 6.03 Notes Gameplay and System Updates

  • Adjusted the Firing Error graph to use worst case error represented as degrees from the aim direction. The graph now reports the worst case error degrees of a possible bullet vector—before it didn't account for the generation of the actual error vector.
  • Introduced a new setting “Operator (Hold)” which allows those of you in Toggle Mode to hold Secondary Fire to go to Level 2 zoom. (Pre-Patch 6.0 zoom behavior).
  • Restored weapon zoom to pre-Patch 6.0 behavior when transitioning from weapon equip to Zoom/Aim Down Sights.

Swiftplay Mode Update

  • Remember when we told you the Swiftplay Beta would end in January. We sorta lied. Everyone decided to just keep it on. Please keep sending us your feedback, though!

Social Updates

  • Real Time Text Evaluation added to the Agent Select Screen. With the addition of Riot Voice Evaluation in the last update, this marks as another effort to combat disruptive in-game behaviour in the game. “In addition to our existing interventions, we are launching a new feature to begin muting players in chat who send disruptive text messages in game. Interventions for disruptive text will now be applied sooner rather than later as we continue updating our systems to evaluate more types of text communication.” said Riot.
  • These improvements will be added to North America first and expanded to more regions in the near future.
    • With the implementation of more immediate text evaluation, we hope to detect and reduce disruptive situations while players are still in game and help you feel safer to engage in VALORANT.
