Valorant’s latest patch, 2.08, is ushering in Act 3 with a new Battlepass, a new tropical map, and a few minor bug fixes.
Act Three is finally here, and with it, players are taking a trip to a tropical destination to kick off summer. Breeze is a Caribbean map with large-scale open objectives and more long-range sightlines than any other map. Getting to play a new map when it first releases can be stressful, so Riot has set Breeze as the primary map for Deathmatch, Spike Rush, and Escalation. There is also a two-week queue for Unrated Breeze matches providing more opportunities to try the oasis without creating a custom game.
On the esports side of Valorant, coach slots have been added to Tournament Mode Custom games after some controversy during VCT Challengers 1. The coaches are locked to only spectating their respective teams and can’t ping or use the in-game voice chat. Coaches can also pause the game if needed, and this is a step towards creating a streamlined competitive ecosystem.
The last changes of the patch are bug fixes for Killjoy, Brimstone, and Viper. Killjoy’s Turret and Alarm Bot icons will no longer disappear when disabled. Astra and Brimstone smokes will not block flashes when you are partially inside them anymore. Viper’s Toxic Screen had a bug on Bind with the teleporters that has since been fixed, and the Poison Cloud pickup distance has been upped to the intended 400 instead of 200.
