No Rest for the Wicked – Trick to Repair Your Items for Free

Playing with broken weapons and armors in No Rest for the Wicked? There’s a trick to repair your items for free.

Underneath all the gorgeous visuals and beautiful art design, No Rest for the Wicked is a deep and complicated game. No wonder Moon Studios called it their “most ambitious project ever.”

Even though the game is still in its Early Access and only has a couple of early sections unlocked, players are amazed with all the different mechanics that the devs have introduced with the game. Some of them such as the Parrying or the Combat mechanics feel insane while some can seem a bit frustrating at times.

The fact that your items lose durability the longer you use them and the more you die is one of the more annoying things that the devs use in the game. And once the durability reaches zero, you need to take a trip to Fillmore and get it repaired. To make matters worse, the repair cost can be quite steep.

But did you know there’s a trick that you can use to repair your items for free? Well, in this article, we’ll run you through the exact steps so that you no longer have to spend your precious coppers on item repairs! Let’s get started.

How to Repair Your Items for Free in No Rest for the Wicked

In No Rest for the Wicked, every piece of item you can equip, even your Rings and Armor, has a certain level of durability. They can range from 75 all the way up to 200, depending on the quality of the gear.

Now as you keep playing, you’ll inevitably run into enemies and take damage. This will cause the durability value to lower over time. Dying in battle can also reduce the durability of your equipped pieces of gear.

Once the durability drops below a certain threshold, the gear piece starts becoming less effective. You can find Repair Powders as you explore the world to increase the durability of your item, but in most cases, you need to run back to Fillmore to repair everything.

The problem here is that Fillmore can charge a lot of coppers for repairs. As you can see from the image above, repairing all of our gear will cost us 70 Coppers, and we only have 51 Coppers in our wallet. This is a problem you’ll run into pretty often in the early game, as your source of Copper will be quite low.

However, No Rest for the Wicked uses a Realm system that you can exploit to do all your repairs for free. To use the exploit, you need to create a new realm with the new character. Skip the Prologue if you want; it doesn’t matter.

When you wash ashore in The Shallows, proceed through the realm as usual until you get to Fillmore, the Blacksmith. Now quit out of the game, switch to your old character, and choose the Realm option from your main menu. Choose the new realm.

As you can see, your old character will now be transported to the new realm that you created with all your items and levels. You can now run to where the Blacksmith is in Mariner’s Keep. Since he hasn’t moved to Sacrament yet, you can repair all your items completely free of cost, as you can see from the image below.

You can use this method indefinitely as long as you don’t progress through the realm too much. Remember, if you kill Warrick, the Torn, and progress through to Sacrament, Fillmore will no longer be available in this location. Instead, he will move on to the town where you need to spend coppers for repairs once again.

In addition to making your repair costs zero, this method also lets you farm early game resources infinitely. You can even play through the entire game if you want using the new realm, but there’s really no point to that in our opinion.
