LoL Patch 13.1 begins the new Ranked season by including a mid-scope update for Jax, buffs Shaco and Sion while including nerfs and balance changes for a variety of champions.

Patch 13.1 kicks off Season 13 by introducing a variety of balance changes to crank up the meta, along with a mid-scope update to Jax. With a new Ranked split to start the year off with, League fans have plenty of time on their hands to climb the ranked ladder as the dev team incorporates a series of changes to ‘even-out’ the tank meta. Through a twitter post, Riot Developer ‘Phlox’ revealed the preview notes for League’s Patch 13.1. The ARAM changes were revealed through a separate tweet by Design Lead Riot Maxw3ll.

LoL Patch 13.1 Preview Complete List of Champion Changes

Riot’s League team starts off the patch with slight buffs to Shaco while underlining a series of AD buffs for top lane champions. Sion receives a base health boost while his top-lane partner Jayce gets targeted with a slight attack damage buff. The planned nerfs for Mordekaiser have been pulled from the official release. Riot hasn’t specified an approx time frame for the Mordekaiser nerfs, but we expect to see them undergo further testing on PBE before the final live server release lock-in.

On the other hand, Yuumi and Zeri end up on Riot’s nerf list as the League dev team plans to tune the meta. With their latest patch, the dev team have also targeted newly launched champion K’Sante with a series of balance changes.

Passive damage: 5-12 percent  changed to 4-10 percent.
E healing during R: 25/30/35/40/45 changed to 20/24/28/32/36.
R move speed: 60/80/100 percent changed to 50/65/80 percent.

AR growth: 4.2 changed to 3.7.

LoL Patch 13.1 Preview Jax Mid-Scope Update

Besides including changes to make Jax’s ultimate more ‘exciting’, the upcoming patch will also deploy several SFX and VFX overhauls for the champion. Riot has also notified players that Rell is “next-in-line” for a mid-scope update. However, there is no specific release date for Rell’s confirmed rework. Here are the complete update notes for Jax’s mid-scope mini rework. Players should note that the changes are subject to change and may vary in the final patch release. Jax’s mid-scooe rework has spend a significant amount of time on PBE servers, with Riot developer August Browning revealing the PBE server release back in late November last year.

  • Q: AP ratio removed
  • E: Damage reduced from 55-155 physical damage (with +50 percent bonus AD) to 55-175 + 4 percent max health (with +100 percent AP) magic damage. E ability damage bonus per attack dodged changed from 20% of total damage to 20 percent of base damage.
  • R Passive: 100/140/180 (+70 percent AP) changed to to 100-150 (+60 percent AP) Added new VFX and SFX for the passive.
  • R Active (NEW): Ability using Jax’s lantern to deal magic damage, 150-350 (100 percent AP). If a champion is hit, Jax gains 10-40 (+0.1 bonus AD) armor and magic resist. Jax will also gain 14-22 (+0.1 Bonus AD) armor and magic resist per champion hit for 8 seconds. Passive damage will apply for every second attack instead of every third attack during the 8 second period.

LoL Patch 13.1 Preview ARAM Changes

Champions in the Howling Abyss’ also receive their fair share of balance changes as Riot looks to start off the year with Death Timer changes. All Timers at around 11 to 18 seconds are now lowered by 1 second. Besides updating several champions and kick-starting the new ranked season, League’s dev team have deployed balance changes for a total of 28 champions in ARAM.

When Does League of Legends Patch 13.1 Release?

League’s Patch 13.1 is slated for a live server release across all regions on Tuesday, January 10. Players should note that the servers would be down for maintenance for a few hours after the global patch release.
