League Of Legends: LEC Provides Production Update, Cancels Malmö Final

LEC provides a production update for Summer Split. It includes the canceling of the Malmö, Sweden Finals, and skeleton crew for regular-season matches.

The LEC will now look to explore other options for the Summer Split Finals, with more information expected soon. Secondly, regular-season production will move back into the LEC Studio in Berlin starting in Week One. The show will operate with a skeleton production crew adhering to updated health and safety precautions as determined by local regulations in Germany. Teams will continue to play remotely from their training facilities.

Going forward, the LEC will monitor the situation and makes changes as appropriate. Its aim is to have all teams and press back in the studio by seasons end.

The LEC also points out that a skeleton crew is only possible with certain restrictions. "The reasoning behind this gradual approach is that the amount of staff we require in the studio increases drastically when teams, press, or audience return. Therefore, we will start with a minimal approach to keep the risk low and allow for a slow ramp-up in a controlled environment."

The LEC returns on June 12, so make sure to stay tuned to ESTNN for any future updates.
