Given how convoluted and complicated the world of No Rest for the Wicked can get, it’s understandable that some players might have trouble getting through the areas, especially considering the souls-like inspiration for the level design.

One such area is situated in The Shallows location. Specifically in the Western Bridge, where you’ll have to find a key to get through the bridge and access the Mariner’s Keep region. 

How to Find the Western Bridge Key in No Rest for the Wicked

Finding The Western Bridge Key

The first step to finding the Western Bridge Key in No Rest for the Wicked is starting the quest “The Innkeeper’s Husband”, which you can do after beating Warrick the Torn, one of the first bosses in the game. That being said, you can’t cheat your way and go straight to the key’s location, because the key simply won’t be there unless you activate the quest.

After starting the quest in Sacrament, travel back to the starting point and head west from the Shallows beach. You’ll notice a tower that you can climb up with two ladders. Once you’re at the top of the tower, jump over the gap to find the innkeeper’s husband. The Western Bridge Key will be available for you to take beside the corpse next to the husband. 

Heading Back to The Western Bridge

Once you have the key, you can make your way back towards the Western Bridge. You can do that by going back and climbing up the tall tower on the far western side of the Mariner’s Keep. Once you’re at the top, you’ll find a door that’ll lead you straight to the Western Bridge that you can now unlock with the key.

Be careful once you’re in this area though, because there’s going to be a bunch of enemies waiting for you, especially a heavy Risen that has a powerful sweeping attack. There’s a number of chests there as well, so it’s worth taking the time to clear out the enemies, to grab some valuable loot!

It’s pretty simple and you can finish this quest pretty early in the game, but there are some steps that you’ll have to do like starting the Innkeeper’s Husband questline which might cause confusion to some people.
