Vikings vs. Bills NFL week 10 odds, preview and current betting lines
This game is without question the biggest game in the NFL this week and it’s got every possibility of being an absolutely barnstorming match up. The Vikings currently sit top of the NFC North with a highly impressive 7-1 record whilst it’s also impossible to ignore the fact that they’ve won each of their last six games. The Bills are no mugs though; they sit at the summit of the AFC East with a healthy 6-2 record that sees them as favourites across the entire AFC. Look a bit closer and you’ll realise that both are considered amongst the favorites to lift the biggest prize too – the Super Bowl. That obviously won’t be happening here but with both sides in really strong form and seemingly nailed on for a playoff spot, this fixture is a real opportunity to lay down a marker not only with each other but with the other big hitters in the NFL.
As for the game itself, we’re expecting to see plenty of quality but also a fair bit of strategy coming into the mix. The Jets beat the Bills last week but Buffalo will be looking to prove that was just a freak week. Josh Allen had a mare with his passing hands as he and Stefon Diggs failed to connect but, ordinarily, those two are a real nightmare for opposition defenses. The Bills will also know that the Vikings pass defense isn’t amongst their strengths and, as such, will look to exploit it. The Bills can hurt teams in more ways than one though and if Patrick Peterson can keep Diggs under wraps then Allen can rush. That said, the Vikings can pose a threat too. Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson are a duo that will think they can win this game for their team.
Players to watch in the Vikings vs. Bills game
Minnesota Vikings
Justin Jefferson: There is a nice link between Justin Jefferson and the Bills owing to the fact that he was drafted by the Vikings off the back of the Bills moving for Stefon Diggs, however, that sub-plot isn’t remotely why we see him as a key player. Jefferson has put up some really strong number this season – especially of late. Across his last five games he’s made at least six receptions and his lowest yards output in that period is an impressive 98. He’ll be an important player here.
Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen: There are currently doubts over whether or not Josh Allen makes it onto the field for this game owing to a potential injury problem, however, regardless of how that plays out you can guarantee he’ll be stealing column inches come the end of the match. If he’s out then his absence could give the Vikings the advantage they need to win the game. If, however, he’s fit and firing then he’ll be looking to make his side tick as they aim to bounce back from last week.
Our NFL bet of the week for the Vikings vs. Bills match
Right, with the preview over let’s move on to our predictions, after all, that’s the main reason you’re here.
Vikings vs. Bills Spread betting: Bills -3.0 @ -105
We kick off our tips for this game by backing the Bills to win with a -3 spread. Yes, they lost last week but prior to that they’d won four on the bounce with each of their three most recent victories all being won by margins greater than three points. Of course, people will be quick to point to the Vikings six game winning streak, which cannot be ignored, however, the Vikings don’t have a great record against the Bills having lost each of their last two meetings – both have been lost by more than three points.
Vikings vs. Bills odds: Under 42.5 points @ -108
We end today by backing under 42.5 points. The Vikings bring this into doubt a tad with three of their last five games going over that mark, however, two of their last three are south of that 42.5 marker. The Bills have also seen three of five games go over that 42.5 mark but a game average of 41.8 points with the three games in question are all only marginally over the cut off for this bet. Then you have the head to head record, which was a bit of a swinger for us; four of the last five meetings have gone under 42.5 with a game average of just 35.8. That h2h puts the value back on the under.
