Tennessee Titans vs. Los Angeles Chargers Week 15 matchup preview and current betting lines
Sunday’s matchup will boast two 7-6 teams but in very different scenarios. The contest is slated for 4:25 p.m. ET and can be seen on CBS.
Although both teams share the same record, Tennessee sits in the No. 4 overall seed in the AFC playoff picture since it leads the AFC South. Jacksonville at 5-8 probably won’t win out and would need a miracle to overtake the Titans.
The Chargers meanwhile are in second place in the AFC West but are unlikely to catch the 10-3 Chiefs. This means they’ll need to capture one of the three Wildcard spots and finish fifth through seventh to earn a postseason berth.
Los Angeles is coming off a 23-17 at home to Miami and has now won two of its last three games. Tennessee is in the midst of a three-game losing streak with losses at the hands of Cincinnati, Philadelphia and Jacksonville.
The current moneyline odds for this matchup on Caesars Sportsbook are Tennessee (+132) vs. Los Angeles (-156). Oddsmakers favor the Chargers as 3-point favorites at -104 odds. Among the public, 51% of bets have been placed on Tennessee to cover the spread and 81% of the money is on the Chargers to win straight up.
Players to watch in the Titans vs. Chargers contest
Tennessee
Robert Woods: Woods is the team’s WR1 but hasn’t played like it. He’s only posted 406 yards and scored just one touchdown this season. The former Ram is only averaging a paltry 31.2 yards per game and has only eclipsed 48 yards receiving three times three times this campaign. He’ll need to step up with Burks being ruled out for the contest.
Los Angeles
Keenan Allen: The shifty slot receiver and a top target for Herbert has missed the majority of the year with a hamstring injury. He’s finally healthy and is returning to his usual self. Allen recorded 12 catches for 92 yards in the team’s win over Miami and has recorded at least 88 yards in three of the last four games.

If anyone wonders what Titans’ head coach Mike Vrabel dreams about it’s obvious what the answer is — that the team never traded away Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Brown away during the offseason.

Tennessee’s offense has been extremely stagnant this season and the team is having issues putting points on the board. The Titans rank 26th in points per game (18.5) and have the fourth-worst total offense in the league with an average of 296.9 yards per game.
Brown was dealt for the 18th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Titans ultimately traded for rookie wide receiver Trey Burks. Burks has played well but isn’t a proven top-5 wide receiver in the NFL such as Brown.
To pour salt in the wound, Brown erupted for eight catches, 119 yards and two touchdowns in the 35-10 demolition of his former team. Tennessee’s front office fired general manager Jon Robinson, who executed the trade. Vrabel probably wishes his GM had been fired before the draft too.
The Chargers will certainly pose a tough challenge for the Titans, especially with their weapons out wide finally healthy. Dynamic duo Mike Williams and Keenan Allen are back and ready to provide help to Justin Herbert and running back Austin Ekeler as they’ve done the last few weeks.
Brandon Staley and his men feature the 12th-ranked offense (357.4 YPG) and are scoring 22.7 points per game (14th). They’d likely be in the top 10 had the two receivers not missed so much time with injury.
Herbert is playing excellently this season. Here are his numbers compared to the rest of the league.
Justin Herbert Stats
Passing yards: 3,706 (2nd)
Touchdown passes: 21 (9th)
Interceptions: 7 (T-14th)
Quarterback rating: 57.9 (12th)
The Chargers are 6-0 against the spread vs. the Titans in their last six home and 11-2 in their last 13 matchups against them as well. Our pick at ESTNN is to take Los Angeles to win on the moneyline at -156 odds on FanDuel.
Titans vs. Chargers odds: Ryan Tannehill over 221.5 passing yards @ -114 (BetRivers)
In the last five games, Tannehill has thrown for over 221.5 passing yards on four occasions. Throughout that span, he’s averaged 254.8 yards per game.
All five of those games have been either close or featured the Titans trailing. The game script will probably stay on course against the Chargers which will enable Tannehill to throw a lot.
Our pick is bet on Tannehill to beat the 221.5-yard prop on BetRivers Sportsbook at -114 odds. If you’re interested in learning about more prop bets for week 15, read our NFL player props page.
