Since France has already qualified for the Round of 16, Didier Deschamps will choose to rest certain starters such as Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud, Ousmane Dembele, Raphael Varane, and Olivier Giroud.

Kylian Mbappe is the joint-leading scorer of the competition along with Ecuador’s Enner Valencia. However, he will have to sit in this one as it was already made public that he and Griezmann are going to rest.

Tunisia will likely deploy a similar starting XI from last week’s 1-0 loss to Australia. Skipper Wahbi Khazri didn’t see action in Matchday one but was moved into the eleven on Matchday two. The Montpellier attacker will probably see the field from the get-go and be leaned on.

Three of the last four winners of the Coupe Du Monde were eliminated in the following group stage. France avoided this feat and is looking to become the first team to win back-to-back titles since Brazil in 1958 and 1962.

Despite the odds being stacked against them, The Eagles of Carthage will attempt to qualify for the knockout stages for the first time in their history. They’ve made five previous World Cup appearances.

Players to watch in Tunisia vs. France matchup

Youssef Msakni: The 32-year-old could be captaining his side for the final time in a major tournament. Msakni will need to be precise with his chances throughout the contest. He’s scored 17 goals in 84 caps for his country.

Kingsley Coman: The Bayern Munich winger has been disappointing for his club this season scoring only one goal in 14 matches. Coman has had an impressive career and try to regain his form. The 26-year-old speedster has found the net 24 times in 124 appearances for Munich.

ESTNN’s soccer analysts will provide two Tunisia vs. France betting tips in the following section.

Tunisia vs. France prediction: France to win @ -210 (BetRivers)

After losing to Denmark 2-0 and 2-1 in their two previous meetings, the French put on a strong performance resulting in a 2-1 victory. Deschamps’ men outshot the Danes 21-10 and found the winner in the 86th minute through Mbappe.

Tunisia suffered its disappointing loss as heavy favorites to Australia. Jalel Kadri’s side was a little unlucky to not find themselves on the score sheet after recording more shots, (14-9) possession (59%) and passes (497-351) against the Socceroos.

The red and white will surely come out desperate for a win but are outmatched in every position even by France’s substitutes. Players such as Kingsley Coman, (Bayern Munich) Eduardo Camavinga, (Real Madrid) Marcus Thuram, (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Matteo Guendouzi (Marseille) present plenty of quality.

There were some questionable results in Tunisia’s last 15 matches which include losses to Mali, Gambia, Burkina Faso and a draw against Botswana. Les Bleus will provide much more of a threat than the teams listed.

At ESTNN, we believe it’ll be too challenging for Tunisia to break down France’s backline and retain much possession. BetRivers sportsbook is offering France on the moneyline at -210 odds.

Tunisia vs. France odds: France over 1.5 goals @ -140 (Caesars)

The first two rounds of the World Cup have been low scoring compared to previous years. This scenario will likely change in Matchday three due to teams needing a result and pushing forward while leaving their defenses susceptible.

France has scored two or more goals in three of its previous five matches. If the dangerous Mbappe starts, there’s a good possibility the French find the back of the net at least twice.

The last time Tunisia faced a top-10 opponent in the FIFA rankings, (Brazil) the team conceded five goals. Kadri did play many of his regular starters in the 5-1 defeat against the South American powerhouse.

Our pick is to take the -140 odds offered by Caesars Sportsbook for France to score over 1.5 goals. If you’re interested in reading about more betting lines in Qatar, visit our World Cup predictions page.

Group D preview and other World Cup matches

While France battles Tunisia, Denmark will be playing against Australia simultaneously. The French haven’t won the group yet, but it would take a huge upset by the Socceroos and a plethora of goals to overtake them at the top of Group D.

On many sportsbooks, the Danes are -190 to advance to the knockout stage. Australia (+170) and Tunisia (+1800) are currently underdogs in the eyes of oddsmakers to escape the group.
