Then, they got past another divisional rival by topping the Arizona Cardinals on the road in a game that wasn’t as close as one could tell by the final score.

The San Francisco 49ers were forced to change their plans for the season in the blink of an eye. They couldn’t beat the Chicago Bears in hostile weather in the season debut and then lost Trey Lance for the season in the second game of the campaign.

Jimmy Garoppolo weathered the storm in Week Two and helped them get the win over the Seattle Seahawks. Then, his usual struggles were back at full display in a primetime game vs. the Denver Broncos that was the ultimate snoozefest.

Jimmy Garoppolo: Jimmy Garoppolo is what he is. He’s never going to be that guy who’ll sling the football down the field, nor a mobile pocket-passer who can break tackles and ankles with his feet. He’s held the San Francisco 49ers back for years, so he’ll need to silence his critics and earn a new contract.

Yes, Stafford has struggled to find the same success he found last season, and the Niners did a good job of keeping him in check in their last meeting. However, the Rams feature more talent on both sides of the field, and they also know how to get to Jimmy Garoppolo.

Garoppolo is no starte, not at this level. So, even if he went from an afterthought to a starter once again, he’s only making the Niners worse, not better, especially if they don’t have their best running back, Elijah Mitchell, next to him and taking pressure off his shoulders.

The Rams want to make a statement in every divisional game, and this has the perfect setting for that. They already beat the Niners in their last meeting and Stafford should look better with another week to heal. Take the visitors and sprinkle some on the Moneyline as well.
