Rams vs Cardinals: Odds, Spread, Preview: NFL Week 3 Predictions

Rams vs Cardinals Week 3 matchup preview and current betting lines

Two divisional foes that clearly dislike each other will take the field when the Los Angeles Rams visit the Arizona Cardinals. Kliff Kingsbury and the Cardinals sure have this game marked on their calendar after last year’s embarrassing loss to the eventual reigning champions.

Neither of these teams has looked particularly good early in the season, albeit their both coming off wins. The Rams barely escaped with a win after allowing the Atlanta Falcons to come right back into the game, whereas the Cardinals pulled off one of the most epic comebacks in recent NFL history.

But none of that will matter when these two foes face off again. They know each other pretty well and both teams know that they can’t afford to fall to a 1-2 hole if they have serious aspirations in the postseason. So, who’ll prevail? Let’s find out.

Players to watch:

Matthew Stafford: Matthew Stafford’s health continues to be a reason for concern in Los Angeles. He did throw for 272 yards and 23 touchdowns on 27/36 vs. the Falcons, but he also had a couple of picks and avoidable mistakes against a not-elite defense.

Kyler Murray: Kyler Murray took things personally after the break. He struggled to hit receivers in stride but completely turned the corner in the second half. He’s coming off 277 passing yards and 28 rushing yards with 2 total scores, but the Rams have often exposed him.

Week 3 Predictions: NFL Bet of the week on Rams vs Cardinals

Rams -4

The opening Rams vs Cardinals has the Los Angeles Rams favored by four points. While not many teams would be four-point favorites on the road against a divisional foe, their recent history of success vs. the Cardinals explains this.

Sean McVay completely owns Kliff Kingsbury. The Rams’ defense has Kyler Murray’s number, and they’re stacked in the offense, while the home side still has some major absences in the receiving corps. Divisional games are always tough, but the Rams should cover the spread.

Over 51

The Rams vs Cardinals odds have this game sitting at 51 projected points. That’s not a surprise, considering both of these teams are built through their offense and feature explosive playmakers who can put up points on the scoreboard in the blink of an eye.

The champions’ defense has looked as beatable as ever, and the Cardinals have fought hard to get back into games in the second half in back-to-back weeks. Even if this ends up being a blowout, the Cards can put up points in no time.
