At the time of writing, we are just a few days away from the Preakness Stakes. As the second leg of the 2022 Triple Crown, it almost goes without saying that picks for the Preakness Stakes are in high demand. And if that’s what you are looking for – you’ve come to the right place. Within the information presented below, you’ll find many Preakness expert picks for the upcoming race this Saturday. We’ve analyzed the current form of the horses in the lineup, we’ve looked at their physical shape, and we’ve also looked into the jockeys and trainers too.
This analysis has enabled us to put together the following Preakness predictions for the second installment of the Triple Crown right here.
Preakness 2022 Picks for Saturday
It’s worth noting that currently, the Preakness picks we’ve listed are not yet part of the confirmed lineup for Saturday. Usually, the lineup is only confirmed for the Preakness Stakes a day or two before the race begins. However, we can still make some Preakness picks based on the ante-post markets, so here they are:
Epicenter to Win – Favorite
Of all the horses in the Preakness Stakes lineup, we feel that this one is the best bet to make. Epicenter was actually one of the red hot favorites to win the Kentucky Derby just a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, he was upset by a huge underdog and managed to finish in 2nd place only. But this time around, we don’t feel that he will be beaten to the line. He will be fresh after some rest between the Derby and the Preakness Stakes. And looking at the track, the conditions and turf will suit Epicenter down to the ground.
His odds are around +120 at most sportsbooks too.
Bet on Belmont Stakes >Secret Oath Each Way
For our Preakness picks, we didn’t just want to give you one option. But we definitely wanted to give you two realistic bets that can pull through. So for us, Secret Oath is another great option, but not for the winning market. The odds on this horse to win are attractive at +450, sure, but realistically, we don’t think he will beat Epicenter on Saturday. However, we certainly feel that he could place in the top three. And if he wins – even better! For that reason, we are suggesting an each-way option for our Preakness picks on this horse.
