PointsBet NY Soft-Launched at the Start of this Week
While the official launch of PointsBet's mobile sports betting product is still upcoming, they decided to do a soft launch this week to test some things out and make sure everything will be perfect for the state-wide launch. The first wager with PointsBet was placed on Monday at 10:09 PM local time.
Right now, PointsBet NY is the sixth mobile app that was approved and will launch in New York. PointsBet's US chief executive Johnny Aitken stated that “launching in New York is a significant milestone for PointsBet, being one of nine approved online sports betting operators in the state.”
Other comments on the upcoming launch by PointsBet Group CEO and Managing Director Sam Swanell include “This marks a momentous day for PointsBet in officially launching within the state of New York, poised to be one of the largest markets in the United States.”

What can you expect at PointsBet New York?
We expect the PointsBet NY launch will offer users a mobile app similar to the one they have in other goes. You may already be aware that the state of New York only legalized mobile sports betting for the moment. And so it goes without saying that users will expect nothing less than a mobile app that provides a top-notch user experience.
What about a PointsBet NY new customers welcome offer?
Although we don't know a lot about the welcome offer PointsBet NY has planned for new players in the empire state, we can assume it will be something similar to what they currently have on offer for new players from NJ - A risk-free wager of up to $1,500. Be sure to check back this page to get the latest on the offers PointsBet will have for new players!
Are There Bookie Launches That are Still Pending?
We talked about six of the apps that have already launched or are about to launch shortly in New York, but there are still three others that are on the list of approved mobile betting apps in the Empire State. The rest are:

These last three bookmakers will be allowed to launch by the NYSGC as they meet all the regulatory and statutory requirements.
