Following two easy wins at home, the first-seeded Miami Heat have the Philadelphia 76ers against the ropes. Now, the series travels to the City of Brotherly Love to give the Sixers a chance to even things up. Who’ll take Game 3? Let’s find out!
Following a tough trip to South Beach and after falling to 0-2, the Philadelphia 76ers (55-35 SU) and (41-47-2 ATS) will host the Miami Heat (59-30 SU) and (51-37-1) ATS) trying to take at least one game in the series.
Doc Rivers’ team has been outhustled and outplayed on both ends of the floor, with their perimeter defense struggling to keep up with the Heat’s shooters. Danny Green was -18 in just 23 minutes of play in Game 2, while Mattise Thybulle was -6 in 20 minutes.
However, the Sixers still have some hope. Joel Embiid could make his return in Game 3 or Game 4 and they have one of the loudest, more ruthless fanbases in the nation, so taking the series back home will be a huge plus for them.
The Heat were the best team in the Eastern Conference during the regular season and want to reach the promised land again. But these two teams match up pretty well when they’re both at full strength, so anything can happen.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Miami Heat Odd Analysis
Once again, the Miami Heat are favored to get the win. After being favored by as many as 8.5 points in the first two games, Erik Spoelstra’s team visits Wells Fargo Center as one-point favorites. That shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Joel Embiid’s potential return could make a big impact on both ends of the floor.
Also, after watching these teams go way over the total in the second game of the series, oddsmakers adjusted and took the game total 2.5 points higher in comparison to Game 2. Now, we’re finding the over/under set at 210.5 points, which is still low by today’s standards.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Miami Heat Picks For Game 3

Heat Make It 3-0, Cover The -1 Point Spread @-110 (Odds via DraftKings)
If Joel Embiid plays, then the Sixers have a chance to at least cut the deficit and make it 2-1. If not, then Doc Rivers’ reluctance to make adjustments will continue to haunt him. Playing DeAndre Jordan has done nothing but hurt the team and Bam Adebayo will once again feast on both ends of the floor.
However, we know that winning at Wells Fargo Center and in front of the Sixers’ fanbase isn’t easy. They’ll get loud pretty quickly and will try to get on Heat’s players’ heads right away. If Embiid plays, then this matchup will be as close as the line suggests, but we expect the Heat to get a slim win anyway. Heat And Sixers Thrive Off Defense, Go Under The 210.5 Points @-110 (Odds via BetMGM)
These two teams combined for a whopping 222 points in Game 2, which was unlike them. Both play at a slow pace and build off their defense, yet the Sixers couldn’t get a stop all night long. The Heat shot 51% from the floor and 48% from beyond the arc, and both marks are unsustainable, especially on the road.
While we don’t expect Doc Rivers’ team to shoot 26% from three and there should also be some positive regression there, they should make things way tougher for their rivals when they’re back on their court. Take the under at 210.5 points.
Our Bonus Player Prop Pick: James Haden o25 Points @ -120 (Odds via FanDuel)
James Harden was slightly better in the second game of the series, yet he failed to go over 25.5 points. Now, oddsmakers have taken half a point away from his total and we feel like there’s great value on this prop. It’s only a matter of time before Harden shakes off the rust and gives us a throwback performance. He’ll be back at home and with the season nearly on the line, so expect a big game for him.
