Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat Game 1 Preview
The Miami Heat played hard during the regular season finishing first in the Eastern Conference and now is the time when that pays off. The Heat are opening the second round series against the Philadelphia 76ers on home court and that is not the only advantage coach Eric Spoelstra will have. The Heat are coming off a dominant performance in the opening playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks taking care of business in 5 games. Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo have led the way for the Heat and with these two, Miami has the best two-way duo in the league at the moment. Former All-Star Victor Oladipo recently fully recovered from his knee injury and has raised his form right on time. He can cover both guard positions where the Heat also have the former champion Kyle Lowry. In addition, Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro are great long-distance shooters and with the way the Heat play, these two find themselves open very often.
The Sixers will start the series without Joel Embiid who suffered a right orbital fracture and mild concussion in Game 6 of the series against the Toronto Raptors. The center who led the league in scoring this season, will miss the opening game of the Heat series and there is no timetable for his return. There is no way Sixers coach Doc Rivers to find a way to replace Embiid as he was absolutely dominant on both ends of the floor but luckily Philly has many players who can score. First among those is former MVP James Harden who will now have more shots per game and if he shoots with decent percentages, the Sixers will have a chance in this series.
