Patriots vs. Raiders NFL Week 15 Preview

The New England Patriots (7-6) would be the No. 7 seed if the playoffs started today, but they can likely forget the postseason if they do not beat the Las Vegas Raiders (5-8) this Sunday. This is the most winnable game left on New England’s schedule, and we know Bill Belichick is going to want to beat his former assistant, Raiders coach Josh McDaniels.

Most have beaten McDaniels in incredible fashion this year as the Raiders have blown four 13-point leads and lost to a team with an interim coach (Jeff Saturday and the Colts). The Raiders just blew a 16-3 lead to the Rams, who had signed quarterback Baker Mayfield 48 hours earlier.

McDaniels beat Belichick in 2009 when he was coaching Denver, but this Raiders team is underperforming and too hard to trust right now. The Patriots enter with a great defense to get after Derek Carr as Matt Judon leads the NFL with 14.5 sacks entering Week 15.

These two franchises have played some classic games against each other, and this should be a good one with the Patriots desperately trying to win and McDaniels trying to keep his job for 2023.
