Milwaukee Bucks vs. Chicago Bulls Odds Analysis

Despite what happened the last game and the fact that Bucks’ star shooting guard Khris Middleton is out for the series with an injury, the Bucks are favored by 2.5 points. Expectations are for Giannis Antetokounmpo to elevate his game even higher beyond the 33 points and 18 boards he collected last game. Doubting Giannis isn’t wise but this feels like a good opportunity to ride the momentum that Chicago has created over the last six quarters.

Chicago has found a formula that can work against a Middleton-less Bucks offense. They now have about as much talent as the Bucks since Milwaukee has shortened their rotation so much. The total of 216 also looks to be a bit optimistic, so we’ll touch on that more below.

The moneyline isn’t a bad play here, but getting some points for a team with a relatively good chance to win is the right bet. This is where the oddsmakers want you to take Giannis in primetime. He may deliver but remember that the Bucks won in part due to other teams’ injuries last year, and they would have lost well before the Finals to Brooklyn without luck.

Milwaukee is good but vulnerable. That’s a Coach Bud staple of being great in the regular season but predictable in the playoffs. This is a coinflip game but I’ll take the points and hope the Bulls can again ride their starters heavy minutes.

Both games have hit the under and now the Bucks are without Middleton. Their best shooter now on the shelf, the Bucks may need to pivot to get the most out of their bench. Pat Connaughton showed he wasn’t up for the challenge last game, and Grayson Allen is never the answer.

The absence of Middleton will have Giannis slowing the game down. This favors the Bulls right now, but Milwaukee has no other chance. Expect this to be another grinding game that comes down to the wire.
