Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors Game 4 Preview
This series could be reaching its boiling point now that a player has been ejected in all three games, and the teams are trading shots at one another off the court. After Golden State coach Steve Kerr said that Memphis forward Dillon Brooks “broke the code” with his flagrant foul in Game 2, Ja Morant tweeted “broke the code” (since deleted) in regards to Jordan Poole’s tug at Morant’s leg that caused him to leave Game 3 in the fourth quarter.
Will Morant play in a crucial Game 4? He has come back from injury before, and the Grizzlies have done an amazing job in games without him (20-5 record) this season. But the Warriors in Golden State are a whole different beast as Memphis experienced. Golden State shot a season-high 63.1% in Game 3. Klay Thompson found his shooting stroke at home and the Warriors got another 57 points out of Steph Curry and Poole.
If Morant cannot go, which seems to be the most likely outcome, it would be a huge blow as he has been by far the team’s best player in this series. Desmond Bane hit four threes but is still not playing at a high level in this series. Brooks will have to work his way back from his Game 3 suspension. The Grizzlies can be in real trouble here, so Morant may have to do whatever he can to suit up on Monday night to save the season.
Common Questions for Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors Game 4
Like Game 3, this game will be played at Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
Golden State is a 9-point favorite, the highest spread yet in the series. This could change depending on Ja Morant’s game-time status.
The total at various sportsbooks is 225.5 points, a number that two of the first three games easily cleared.
Ja Morant left Game 3 halfway through the fourth quarter after an apparent knee injury that saw him visibly limp. His status is up in the air for Game 4.
Memphis was 19-10 ATS after a loss this season, the third-best record in the NBA.
