Jets vs. Patriots Odds, Spread, Preview: NFL Week 11 Predictions

Jets vs. Patriots NFL week 11 odds, preview and current betting lines

Not only are the Jets vs Patriots clashes littered with drama, twists and turns from the past but, right now, this game is huge. In fact, we’d go further than that. This game is absolutely gargantuan in the overall scheme of the AFC East as the Jets and the Patriots aim to keep at least the dream of a wildcard spot alive. That element alone will make this game an extremely interesting one to tune into with very little between these sides. The Jets are currently sat in second place in the division with a 6-4 record, however, the Patriots are rock bottom with a 5-4 record. To spell things out, that means a Jets win would put real breathing space between them and their hosts, however, should the Patriots take the ‘W’ then the AFC East will quickly become very congested as they’d mirror the Jets’ 6-4 record.

As for the game itself, the Patriots dominate the head to head record with the Jets last win over New England coming way back in January 2011, however, that doesn’t make this a foregone conclusion. The Jets arrive here as the better performing side and their away form has been spectacular this season as they’ve won four from four on the road.

So, how will things play out? Well, both teams are better in the defensive phase of the game rather than the offense so that’s going to play a big part in what happens. With that considered, the winner of this game will likely be the side that can deliver the best football with the ball. The Jets will look to repeat a similar strategy from their last outing where they opted to rush more than they threw. As for the Patriots, they’re always more efficient on the run as opposed to tossing the ball about so don’t expect to see a lot of the ball in the air! The question that remains is who will run it better?

Players to watch in the Jets vs. Patriots game

New York Jets

Zach Wilson: We’ve already expressed our thoughts that the better ground game wins this match and, generally speaking, that isn’t where Wilson excels. Despite that, he’s looked sharp on the rush in his last couple of outings and against a Patriots defense that struggles against an on the run QB, this could be his game.

New England Patriots

Rhamondre Stevenson: Rhamondre Stevenson is someone that’s going to keep the Jets defense on their toes in this game. If he gets room to open his legs then he’s a real dangerman in this Patriots side as proven by his 4.8 yard average across the season to date.

Jets vs Patriots prediction

Our NFL bet of the week for the Jets vs. Patriots match

Right, with the preview over let’s move on to our predictions, after all, that’s the main reason you’re here.

Jets vs. Patriots Spread betting: Patriots -3.5 @ -105

We kick off our tips for this Patriots vs Jets match up by backing the Patriots to win. Rather than sticking to the straight money line market we’re delving into the spreads and backing them -3.5. The Patriots have been in good shape of late winning four of their last five games and each of those victories have come by at least 3.5 points. As for the Jets, they’ve also been in good form with just one defeat in five but that notably did come against the Patriots just a couple of weeks back; that Patriots won that game by five points; that makes it 10 Patriots wins in a row in this fixture and only once has the margin of victory been less than 3.5.

Jets vs. Patriots odds: Over 38.0 points @ -105

Our second prediction for this all AFC East clash comes from the total points market and we are backing the action to go over the 38.0 mark. Three of the Patriots’ last five games have gone over the 38.0 mark with their game average sitting at 39.4 whilst the Jets, who have also seen three of five go over 38.0, have an average of 39.0. Those averages are awfully tight to the cut off but the head to head record is less so; the last five h2h meetings have averaged 47.2 points per game.
