Ghana vs Uruguay predictions, preview, and top tips
In the search for points, the two teams are ready to dig deep. We’re expecting plenty of goals, many ludicrous attempts in the last 10 minutes of the game, and an Uruguayan celebration at the end of the game.
This rivalry is a fierce one indeed. We all remember how the last Ghana vs Uruguay clash went down. It was a 2010 FIFA World Cup quarter-final game that was a complete emotional roller coaster. Ghana were the better of the two teams on the pitch and on the stroke of half-time they were close to scoring the winner but a deliberate handball by Luis Suarez denied them a place in the semi-finals.
Now, Ghana are out for blood and the players want to settle their differences with the La Celeste but we aren’t convinced that the two-time African Cup of Nations winners have what it takes to cause an upset on the 2nd of December. Uruguay were unlucky in two consecutive games. What are the chances that coach Diego Alonso’s boys will fail against the weakest Group H team?
Players to watch in the Ghana vs Uruguay contest on the 2nd of December
Thomas Partey: He’s the most expensive player on the Ghanaian roster. Yes, there are other important players like Andrew Ayew, Inaki Williams, and Mohammed Kudus, but Thomas Partey is without a doubt the heart and soul of the team. He’s definitely a player to watch for this game.
Darwi Nunez: Liverpool’s star certainly has yet to impress for Uruguay. He has only one World Cup Qualifiers goal and didn’t manage to open his score sheet for La Celeste during the group stage so far. At Merseyside, he’s been giving hints about what we can expect from him once he gets confident enough. He has five goals and two assists in 10 games for Liverpool but the chances he missed this season would cost him dearly in the fight for the top scorer award in the English Premier League.

Ghana vs Uruguay prediction: Over 2.5 goals @ +100
Yes, Uruguay’s games so far have been somewhat of a snooze fest but we are convinced that we have yet to see the best of La Celeste. It’s not that they didn’t try to score. It’s just that the luck wasn’t with them. They were hammering away against South Korea’s goal but the ball just didn’t want to get past Kim Seung-gyu. The woodwork was South Korea’s best friend on two occasions in that game as well.
Against Portugal, Uruguay certainly had their chances as well yet they couldn’t score again. They remain the only team that hasn’t scored a goal at the World Cup and we’re certain that this last Group H game is where the curse will end.
Ghana vs Uruguay odds: Uruguay to win @ -125
Ghana certainly won our hearts with the existing style of soccer they displayed in the first two games but it’s time for their beautiful story to end. Uruguay are one of the hidden favorites at this World Cup and we’re convinced that the bad luck that has followed La Celeste every step so far will leave the team in the Ghana clash on the 2nd of December.
Uruguay emerged victoriously back in 2010 and we’re convinced that this would be a huge motivation booster for La Celeste’s players. Furthermore, Uruguay need the three points if they are to qualify for the round of 16.
Other World Cup games and rankings
Portugal faces South Korea in the other Group H game and the Asian team would have to count on some sort of miracle to qualify for the next round. We expect Uruguay to get a much-needed Group H victory that’ll secure their 2nd place and the right to face Switzerland, Cameroon, or Serbia in the round of 16 in a couple of days.
