Denver Broncos vs. Las Vegas Raiders Odds, Spread, Preview: NFL Week 4 Predictions

Denver Broncos vs. Las Vegas Raiders Week 4 matchup preview and current betting lines

The Raiders host the Broncos at Allegiant Stadium for a divisional battle with kickoff set for 4:25 p.m. Las Vegas (0-3) is in a must-win situation while Denver (2-1) aims to move two games above .500.

Despite the Raiders being winless, the team has lost all three games by a combined 13 points. All three contests have been decided by six points or less.

Vegas comes into the game after a heart-wrenching 24-22 loss to Tennessee. Josh McDaniels’ squad fell just short of a 14-point comeback. Derek Carr found Mack Hollins for a 9-yard touchdown with 1:14 remaining in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to two. The silver and black then failed on the two-point conversion which likely would’ve forced the game into overtime.

Denver enters the game after a nail-biting, 11-10 win over San Francisco on Sunday Night Football. Melvin Gordon punched the ball into the end zone from a yard out with 4:10 left on the clock. A Jeff Wilson Jr. lost fumble on the 49ers’ final drive sealed the victory for the Broncos.

Oddsmakers at BetMGM sportsbook have the odds set in favor of the Raiders winning as 2.5-point favorites on the spread and -150 on the moneyline, compared to the Broncos at +125. The total for the contest is set at 45.5. Currently, 74% of spread bets made by the public have been on Las Vegas.

Players to watch in the Denver vs. Las Vegas contest

Broncos

Courtland Sutton: The former SMU product has firmly taken over the WR1 role over Jerry Jeudy. Sutton has 19 receptions for 291 yards on 28 targets. The 6-foot-4 receiver has failed to find the end zone but has quickly become Wilson’s security blanket. Jeudy only has seven catches for 130 yards and a touchdown (16 targets).

Raiders

Davante Adams: The Raiders traded Green Bay a 2022 first and second-round pick for the All-Pro receiver in the offseason. The goal was to bolster the receiving corps and reunite Carr with his former Fresno State college teammate. The duo has connected 17 times for 189 yards and three touchdowns, yet the team is still 0-3, while the Packers sit at 2-1.

ESTNN is providing gamblers with two free picks for this game.

Denver vs Las Vegas Spread: Las Vegas -2.5 @ -115

The Raiders are 0-3 but haven’t played bad football. They’ve just been unable to close games out and secure wins. Should they fall to 0-4, their playoff chances would take a nose dive. Las Vegas is 11th in the NFL in points per game averaging 21.7. The team struggled on the defensive side of the ball (ranked 24th) allowing 25.7 points per contest.

Carr has thrown for 850 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions. He sits in the middle of the rankings for quarterback rating at 48.4 (16th in the league).

At wide receiver, Mack Hollins leads the team in receiving yards with 240 on 14 receptions. Adams, who is the team’s true WR1, has slowed down after his hot start in week 1 where he caught 10 balls for 141 yards and a touchdown. Since then, he’s only had seven catches for 48 yards and a pair of scores.

The Broncos haven’t played particularly well in their first three games. In week 1, the team lost to Seattle 17-16 and turned the ball over twice in the red zone. Against the 30th-ranked Texans defense in week 2, Denver posted only 16 points and squeaked by with a one-score victory. Last week, the team was fortunate Jimmy Garoppolo stepped out of bounds in the end zone for a safety.

Wilson signed a five-year $245 million dollar deal ($165 million guaranteed) with Denver in the offseason but hasn’t played the way he did in Seattle prior to the 2021 season. The nine-time Pro Bowler has only two touchdown passes on the season (tied for 27th in the NFL) and has a QBR of 45.5 (21st).

Against San Francisco, Wilson had nine three-and-outs and threw for only 184 yards. The Broncos’ offense is having trouble scoring and is 31st in the NFL in points per game (14.3).

Denver is 2-5 against the spread in its last seven games and 1-8 ATS in its previous nine meetings with Las Vegas. The silver and black should come out desperate for its first win. Our pick for this game is to take the Raiders to cover the spread (-2.5) at -115 on BetMGM.
