The first game of the 2022 NBA Finals was one for the history books with a huge turnaround in the last quarter by the Celtics. Now the Warriors have an imperative of winning Game 2 or they risk going to Boston with two games down. Can the Celtics pull off another surprise in San Francisco or will the Warriors tie the series?
The 2022 NBA playoffs are nearing the end with only the NBA Finals remaining and we’ve already saw one very exciting duel between the Celtics and the Warriors in Game 1 of the Finals.
Despite the fact that they had less time to rest, the Celtics looked like they have more energy than the Warriors in Game 1, which is not that surprising since they are the younger team. And despite being down 12 points at the start of the fourth quarter, Boston managed to blow the Warriors away in the final 12 minutes of the game to steal a win in the first game of the NBA Finals.
Boston Celtics Stats:
Record (Regular Season + Playoffs): 64-37
ATS: 57-42-2
Over/Under: 49-50-2
Meanwhile, the Warriors entered Game 1 as the favorites after they only lost four games in the NBA playoff so far. And the Warriors came out guns blazing, especially Steph Curry with 21 points in the first quarter, but their best showing came in third quarter in which they crated a double-digit lead. And to the surprise of pretty much everyone, the Warriors failed to hang on to this lead and ended up losing the game and the home-court advantage in the series.
Golden State Warriors Stats:
Record (Regular Season + Playoffs): 64-34
ATS: 50-45-4
Over/Under: 46-51-2

Boston Celtics vs Golden State Warriors Game 2 Odds Analysis
Despite the fact that the Celtics managed to win Game 1 in San Francisco, the Warriors are now even bigger favorites to win Game 2, although the difference in spread is just one point. The odds on the Warriors on money line are -185 and the spread is set at 4.5 points.
Meanwhile, the line for total points is pretty much the same as it was ahead of Game 1, only going up by one point to 215.5 total points. This is a bit surprising since Game 1 has gone over the line by 13 points, but we understand the reasoning since this is a key game in the series and both teams will put their focus on defense.
Boston Celtics vs Golden State Warriors Game 2 Picks
Before we get on with our betting predictions for Game 2 of the 2022 NBA Finals, you should check our NBA daily betting picks and NBA playoffs parlay tips.
Now, here are our picks and predictions for Sunday’s NBA matchup between Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors:
Boston Celtics to Come Under the Spread (+4.5) @ -115 (Odds via FanDuel)
Not many people saw the Celtics immediately getting a break in the series in Game 1, especially once they went down by 12 points ahead of the last quarter. But once again, the Celtics showed resilience, talent, and sheer will power to get back into the game and ultimately win it.
With that in mind, we can see the Celtics doing well in Game 2 as well. While we can’t say that we expect them to win the game, we certainly expect them to stay in the game until the final minutes. So, betting on them to come under the spread in this game sounds like a reasonable prediction to us.

Under 215.5 Total Points @ -110 (Odds via Caesars)
The first game of the 2022 NBA Finals ended with 228 points being scored, but even before the last quarter in which the Celtics dropped a whopping 40 points, the game was pretty much on par to going over. After all, the Warriors only scored 16 points in that last quarter.
Despite this, we expect to see fewer points in Game 2. Frist of all, the Celtics will do their best to contain Steph Curry from the very start, while the Warriors will have to do better in defending the three point line since the Celtics scored 9 three points in the last quarter of the previous game. All in all, we expect Game 2 to go under 215.5 total points.

Our Bonus Player Prop Pick: Jordan Poole Over 13.5 Total Points @ -120 (Odds via BetMGM)
One of the main reasons why the Warriors failed to win Game 1 was a lackluster contribution from Jordan Poole, among other players. The young guard scored just 9 points in Game 1, which is well below his playoff average this season of 17.8 points per game.
With that in mind, we expect Poole to be more aggressive in the second game of the NBA Finals. After all, he only took seven shots from the field in Game 1. So, the Warriors have to find a way to include Poole more in the offense since his potential on that end is pretty big and that’s why we can see Poole scoring 14 or more points in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
