Bills vs. Dolphins Odds, Spread, Preview: NFL Week 3 Predictions

Bills vs. Dolphins NFL week 3 odds, preview and current betting lines

This week sees the two unblemished sides in the AFC East do battle with the Dolphins hosting the Bills and it’s a game that could cause some serious waves to ripple across the big pond that is the NFL – especially if it is the Dolphins that manage to land the win!

Rewind back to week one and the Dolphins were fighting it out with the Patriots for a wildcard spot in the East; it’s funny what difference a couple of weeks make, isn’t it? The Bills, who have so far brushed aside the Rams and Titans, do remain big favorites to win the division but they’ll have noticed the noises coming from Miami and taken note.

In a world where the Dolphins take a win from this game you will start to wonder what might await as the season edges towards crunch time. Throw in a couple of interesting player match ups and the fact the Bills have previously dominated the Dolphins and we’ve got what will surely be one of the most watched games of the weekend on hand.

Players to watch in the Bills vs. Dolphins game

Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen: There is no escaping it, Josh Allen has been instrumental to the Bills in these first couple of games and will remain to be so. With seven touchdowns and 614 yards to his name already, he is already standing out as the one to beat where the league QBs are concerned.

Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa: We’ve just referenced the best QB in the league so far in Josh Allen but Dolphins man Tua Tagovailoa is right up there with him. His showing in the final quarter of the Dolphins win over the Ravens was simply sensational. Will he pick up where he left off?

Dolphins celebrate: Patriots vs. Dolphins prediction

Our NFL bet of the week for the Bills vs. Dolphins match

Right, with the preview over let’s move on to our predictions, after all, that’s the main reason you’re here.

Bills vs. Dolphins Spread betting: Bills -7.5 @ +133

We kick off our predictions for Bills vs. Dolphins with a spread bet and we are backing the Bills to win -7.5. The Dolphins have made a fine start to the season but, ultimately, we the Bills were much fancied to dominate the AFC East a couple of weeks ago and for good reason. This is their chance to show that they remain in the driving seat. Given their recent form and their head to head record against the Dolphins a -7.5 spread doesn’t look remotely crazy. In their two games this season they’ve taken apart the Titans 41-7 and the Rams 31-10. Regardless of the Dolphins also being strong in their opening games we have still seen frailties and with the last seven h2h clashes being won by the Bills it would be foolish to think the gap has been closed all that much.

Bills vs. Dolphins odds: Total points under 53 @ -112

Our next prediction for this match sees us back under 53 total points. Both of these teams have impressed early doors this season with their quarterbacks, Tagovailoa and Allen, starring. Despite that, the 53 point benchmark set by BetRivers on this wager is one we don’t think the teams will reach. The Bills have seen three of their last five game go under 53 points with an average points per game of 48.6 in that period. As for the Dolphins, four of their past five – and each of their last three – have gone under 53; their game average sits at 43.6. Finally, we can factor in the head to head record; the last two meetings, both of which occurred in the latter half of 2021, have gone south of 53 points by some distance.
