Betting on the Belmont Stakes race – the lineup and best bets to make
At the time of writing, all eight competitors have been confirmed for the Belmont Stakes. Each of the eight horses has different Belmont Stakes odds, of course, and you will naturally be drawn to certain horses above others. But that brings us to our main point here – what the Belmont Stakes’ best bets are and why this is the case. All of this is shown below:
Moneyline market – We The People or Rich Strike
The Moneyline market is where you can shoot for the outright race winner. And looking at the lineup, there are two horses that have a great chance of winning on Saturday. These horses are We The People, a horse that has been placed in gate 1 with odds of +250. And the other is Rich Strike, a horse running in the center that has already won a Triple Crown leg this year – the Kentucky Derby. This horse has odds of +400, which would lead to better returns if the horse did pull through.
Of course, both horses cannot win, but you could back one with your bonus and the other with your own cash.
Bet on Belmont Stakes >Each way – Mo Donegal or Creative Minister
Mo Donegal is actually down as one of the favorites, with odds of +250. But he has failed to perform on the big stages in recent times, with the exception of a G2 victory back in April. Then again, past performances don’t guarantee future results, and he does at least have a decent shot of winning the race. Then we have Creative Minister, who came third in the recent Preakness Stakes. This horse has odds of +650, which is very attractive indeed.
Also – the horses that beat him in the Preakness aren’t competing this weekend!
