Bears vs. Patriots Odds, Spread, Preview: NFL Week 7 Predictions

Bears vs. Patriots NFL week 7 odds, preview and current betting lines

This weeks Monday Night Football sees a clash between two sides that are somewhat struggling so far this season. The Bears find themselves sat on a 2-4 record and up against it in a NFC North division that is currently being dominated by the Vikings whilst the Patriots are rooted to the bottom of the AFC East with a 3-3 record to the point where even the wildcard spot is starting to look beyond them. With that said, things can change quickly in football; a win here certainly wouldn’t do either side any harm.

The Patriots, who are on a two game winning streak, will be taking some comfort from how poor the Dolphins have looked in the AFC East and the return of Mac Jones for this game is a massive boost. Don’t get us wrong, Baily Zappe has looked good during Jones’ absence but Jones is QB1 for a reason – his all round game is just better right now. The Patriots aren’t a one man team though and the proof of that can be found in the fact that four different players bagged TDs last time out.

As for the Bears, they’re in a real tricky spot. Unlike the Patriots, their poor season is manifesting itself right now as they sit on a three game losing run. Justin Fields is a big part of that poor form; the quarterback just can’t find any consistency and with more interceptions than touchdowns thrown to this point, the pressure on him could start to ramp if we don’t see an improvement soon. Even if they lose this game, the Bears really need to perform better than they did versus the Commanders last week.

Players to watch in the Bears vs. Patriots game

Chicago Bears

N’Keal Harry: N’Keal Harry might not be the star player in this game but he’s certainly one to keep an eye on. Harry headed to Chicago in July joining the Bears from the Patriots but, due to injury, he’s not yet played for his new side; this could be his debut.

New England Patriots

Mac Jones: Mac Jones has been absent from the Patriots in recent weeks and, whilst they’ve won a couple of games, he’ll be straight back in the team here providing he comes through late fitness tests, which he is expected to. With his return coming off the back of a couple of wins, he has to deliver the goods.

Bears vs Patriots

Our NFL bet of the week for the Bears vs. Patriots match

Right, with the preview over let’s move on to our predictions, after all, that’s the main reason you’re here.

Bears vs. Patriots Spread betting: Patriots -4.5 @ -189

We kick off our prediction for this Bears vs Patriots match up with a spread bet and we are backing the Patriots to win with a -4.5 spread applied. The Patriots have won each of their last two games by margins well north of the 4.5 spread we’re betting on here having recorded a 38-15 win over the Browns last time out and a 29-0 demolition of the Lions. It’s not just the Patriots form that needs to be considered though. The Bears have been having a tough time of things of late and their results also support the -4.5 spread. They have lost each of their last three games with losing margins of -5, -7 and -8. When you then take a look at how the recent head to head meetings have played out this bet looks to offer real value; the Patriots have won three of the last four meetings by more than 4.5 points.

Bears vs. Patriots odds: Total points over 40.0 @ -110

Next up in our game predictions we turn to the total points market and we are opting for an over 40.0 points bet. The Bears cast a tiny bit of doubt on this tip with a four game average of 36.2 points but they have seen two of their last four games go north of the all important 40.0 point mark. Where the prediction starts to look like more of a sure thing is with the Patriots form and the head to head record. The Patriots have gone over the 40.0 mark in three of their last four matches whilst averaging 49.0 points per game. As for the h2h record, each of the last four clashes have gone over the 40.0 cut off with a whopping game average of 57.8 points. With all that considered, a bet over 40.0 points looks like a solid shout.
