With Dota Underlord's so-called “Big Update” just around the corner, Valve developers decided to tease (hopefully) one final time before players finally get a look at some of the upcoming changes to Valve's autobattler. While ESTNN has already covered some of the new Alliances that will release alongside the update, the latest leaks are showing many, many more interesting things coming to Underlords.
Dota Underlords' Latest Big Patch Leaks

Just when players had thought they had seen it all, the Underlords’ developers have decided to add an entirely new mechanic to the game - Jail. Yes, you’ve read it right. Every 24 hours, a number of "criminal" heroes will be locked up and thrown away the key.
Even though this decision seems funny at first, the truth is that the move serves as a genius RNG-reducing mechanic. Its sole purpose is to limit the number of heroes that the game can drop at any one time. This change pushes Underlords towards a more skill-based floor than other, fully random autobattlers and might see a weekly meta evolve depending on which heroes are in jail. Some casual players just want to have fun, and memorizing a meta list might not qualify.
It is, of course, much too early to tell whether or reducing Dota Underlord's more complex elements are worth it. That said, if we look at Valve’s Artifact, that wasn't really the most well thought out idea, either.. Despite the fact Artifact had its great moments, the game was simply too difficult for the average player.
