Let’s check out everything new in the latest Dota 2 update.
After waiting for so many days, the new Dota 2 update is finally here. Patch 7.28 (also known as the Mistwoods update) brings tons of changes to the game. This was expected because the new DPC season is beginning soon.
Even though there aren’t that many drastic general changes, there is a new hero and an item called Aghanim’s Shard. Moreover, there are new items and a few additional changes. Of course, we can’t go through everything, so we will just focus on the most important things. If you want to check everything new, read the official patch notes.
New hero – Hoodwink
The first thing that we want to talk about is Hoodwink. This is Dota 2’s newest ranged agility hero that seems really interesting. Even though she was released a couple of hours ago, we can assume that the hero will be played either mid or offlane.
As you can imagine, she will be the go-to hero in pubs, so make sure you spam some games during the weekend. At first sight, her spells seem really cool because they allow her to farm fast and stun multiple enemies at once.
It will be really interesting to see the ultimate in action, especially when paired up with other spells. Even though you have to charge it for five seconds, it does tons of damage.
The second thing that we’d like to mention here is the Aghanim’s shards. Although the new hero is exciting, we are actually more interested in this because it completely changes the way how some heroes work.
Aganim’s Shard is an item that you can purchase for 1400 gold. Depending on which hero you play, it will either give you a new ability or upgrade one of your existing ones. However, you can only get this item after the 20-minute mark, and it won’t give you any stats.
We can’t list every single change that this item brings to the game but literally every hero gets something new. Some shards are really strong and will have a massive impact on the game, whereas others are just cool to have.
As expected, we got to see tons of new items added. Besides the regular ones, there are also new neutral items, which means that people will be farming the jungle again. Unfortunately, there is one item that you won’t be able to purchase anymore, and that’s Ring of Tarrasque. It was removed from the game.
Most of the new items can be obtained via a combination of mid and late-game items, which means that they should be pretty popular.
Unlike other updates, this one doesn’t include that many changes. Perhaps the most notable one is that Natural Creeps don’t increase their bounty over the course of the game. This might not seem that important but it will definitely have an effect on most core heroes.
Don’t forget to take a look at the full changelog before you start playing. This patch has many cool things, so we can’t wait to see what will happen in the future.
