It's been one day since the Outlanders update, we take a look at the strongest heroes in 7.23.

After waiting for over a month, the Outlanders Update is finally here and it brings tons of changes alongside it. In fact, Dota 2 is probably never going to be the same after all the new things. There are 60+ new items dropped from the Neutrals, you can now level to 30 and many other things that seem as if this update was released on the first of April. If you want to know more about what’s new, check our preview.

Now that we got the chance to play a little bit, let’s take a look at some of the heroes. To be precise, we will cover those who seem broken right now. After all, they will most likely get fixed once 7.23b comes out.

Broken Heroes

Void Spirit

Surprise, surprise, one of the new heroes is on the list, who would’ve guessed. It is very common for Valve to buff their new heroes way too much only to nerf them a few days later. Well, int the case of Void Spirit, this is definitely a must because the hero is very strong right now.

He is able to ditch tons of damage, especially during the mid-game. As if that is not enough, his ultimate is one of the strongest escape mechanisms right now. If you have both charges on and get Eul’s or BKB, it is literally impossible to die. Oh, let’s also not forget about his second skill which allows him to dodge spells.

It is true that the hero is not that easy to play with, similar to the other Spirits in Dota 2. However, when people get familiar and comfortable with it, the situation will go out of control. We advise you to have some fun before 7.23b comes out.

Sven

The Rogue Knight wasn’t the most popular hero in patch 7.22 which means that it is time for buffs. The first big change with Sven is related to his Warcry - it now grants 15 armor and 24 bonus damage to your nearby allies, as well as giving you 18% movement speed for eight seconds.

This all seems cool but the big thing here is Sven’s Aghanim Scepter. When you purchase it, your Storm Hammer gains 500 cast range and you can travel alongside it. In addition, when you hit your target, you will get an automatic attack on that target

Even though this might not seem like much, it is actually priceless for a hero such as Sven. This Scepter will allow the hero to be a lot more mobile in team fights and do more damage. In general, most pro teams dislike the hero because he can be easily kited. And since this is a hero that needs as much uptime as possible in order to be effective, kiting is a very strong tactic. However, this changes with the Scepter changes.

Previously, Sven’s Aghs increased his damage and strength but it was never a go-to item. After all, there were many other items that do a better job. However, the situation is definitely going to change now.

Lone Druid

The last hero on our list is the infamous Lone Druid, one of Admiral BullDog’s signature heroes.

For some reason, LD always gets tons of changes, every single patch. And 7.23 is no exception, in fact, he has nearly the same amount of changes from some of the previous patches combined.

Long story short - the hero is a lot stronger than he used to be. This was expected because the pros didn’t really pay much attention to him last patch. However, unless he gets nerfed now, Lone Druid’s popularity will definitely skyrocket.

One of the main changes to LD this patch is his Spirit Bear. Now, it will have three abilities at level one. (Which is awesome.) This will make his laning stage a lot stronger. He'll also be able to go for kills before he hits level 5 (when it would get entangle, as long as you skilled it to level 3).

Return has also changed. Instead of being instant, it’s now a channeling spell. Even though this might sound like a nerf, it really isn’t because you'll be able to use it even when the bear is taking damage.

Your Spirit Bear also becomes significantly stronger when you hit level 30. Misha’s damage will basically double and her HP is getting a 1250 boost as well.

Last, but definitely not least, Lone Druid himself will have entangle and demolish in his Tue Form. This is something that definitely needs to change in the future because the pushing capabilities of this hero are just mind-blowing right now. Essentially, you can push the enemy’s buildings twice as fast.

With so many changes in this new patch it's impossible to cover them all in one article. Our advice? Spam as many ranked games as possible and get use to the changes. After all, they are here to stay.
