BIG has announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Red Bull, according to The Esports Observer.
German-owed esports team Berlin International Gaming (BIG) has announced that they have partnered with Red Bull. The partnership includes “joint campaigns and events,” but those have not yet been announced. Red Bull counts BIG as the first-ever German esports they have sponsored. Neither BIG nor Red Bull have released any financial details.

Daniel Finkler, CEO of Berlin International Gaming, commented on the sponsorship, saying, “As CEO, I am very proud that only two years after our foundation we were able to convince a global brand like Red Bull of our vision. It is an honor and a significant milestone in the history of Berlin International Gaming. The partnership establishes not only our top position in Germany but also in Europe and on a global scale.”
BIG joins a long list of other teams and individual players that the energy drink company has sponsored over the past year. Last June, Red Bull and Cloud9 announced a multi-year partnership across a variety of games.
This is the second large partnership announced by BIG in the last two months. In January, Berlin International Gaming partnered with esports betting site Betway that included top billing on the team’s jerseys.
BIG was formed in early 2017. Since its inception, the team has found scattered success in major CounterStrike tournaments. They are currently the lone-German team playing in the ongoing IEM Katowice Major.
